Position Summary:
Serve as board operator and/or call screener for various SiriusXM Talk Programming shows.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Run the audio board for various live and taped programs, and edit audio for on-air use.
Check studio equipment for proper functioning prior to going on-air, reporting technical problems and equipment malfunctions.
Screen phone calls as needed.
Work with producers and talent on following programming clocks to ensure that all content and advertisements are featured as planned.
Work with producers, talent, and directors to develop creative sound ideas to enhance program content.
Coordinate the appropriate mix of music and sound for assigned shows, and ensure that levels are mixed properly.
Work with producers to create/edit "best of" library and emergency procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
At least 1 year of experience running an audio board in a broadcast setting. Internship and college broadcasting experience may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
Requirements and General Skills:

Experience working in broadcast radio, preferably Talk.
Flexible scheduling, must be available to work weekday early mornings.
Thorough understanding and ability to work in the areas of news, politics, and pop culture.
Comfortable working with talent, artists, and high profile individuals.
Ability to work with off-site ("remote") talent, communicating mostly via email/skype/phone.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
Experience with broadcast operation software (Prophet, AudioVault, Dalet, etc), and familiarity with digital audio editing software (ProTools, Audition, SoundForge, etc).
Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Your New Role...

The Production Assistant will be responsible for assisting Producers and Associate Producers for The Lead with Jake Tapper with: locating video, ordering & building graphics, creating fonts, ingesting and editing video.

Your Role Accountabilities...

As the Production Assistant, you will be called upon to research program segments and topics and pull elements for guest interviews. Global Broadcast Engineering provides technological infrastructure and operational support to for the company's global linear playout platform to ensure our global audiences can enjoy *** Discovery's programming around the world and across platforms. *** Discovery is a leading global *** and entertainment company and is available in more than 220 countries & territories and 50 languages.

Global Broadcast Engineering is building technology and systems that meet world class standards for which *** Discovery is known. We provide 24/7 support for the Global Broadcast Operations team and fulfill business needs through constant innovation. We have personnel in Sterling, VA, Atlanta, GA and London, UK.

The role is a leading member of the Global Broadcast Engineering team. This position will execute all aspects of infrastructure engineering and live on-air events. This person will ensure proper state of all playout infrastructure, coordinate regular maintenance, and perform necessary upgrades. This person will work jointly with Broadcast Engineering, Broadcast Operations, and network clients to realize all the requirements of each event. Must be able to balance technical requirements with creative desires and provide a solid and comprehensive production plan.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Alignment of technology roadmaps with different business units and technology teams.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to complete requests in a timely manner.
Ability to perform well in a high-pressure environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Must have strong leadership skills and the willingness to lead by example.
Work with a team of engineers and operators in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, coordinate regular maintenance & necessary upgrades, and address critical problems through to resolution.
Serve as primary interface for Global Broadcast Engineering with Operations & network clients on all live events.
Travel may be required.
Other job duties, responsibilities, and project assignments as necessary. Ability to work any shift schedule.
This position is considered an essential position. Qualifications & Experiences...

BA/BS in IT, Engineering or similar technical degree or equivalent TV & *** industry experience.
Understanding of video and audio signals and standards.

Strong work ethic and positive attitude with ability to lead and handle high volume projects.

The Line Producer, with executive producer guidance, prepares the rundown of news stories, oversees and executes the production of key video and graphic elements.
The Line Producer makes important editorial decisions and guides talent, writers, associate producers and the technical team in the control room.
Additionally, the line producer must be able to build segments and develop story ideas from beginning to air.
This includes editorial discussions, writing scripts, package production, graphics elements and field coordination.

Your Qualifications & Experience...

• Must have at least 5 years of experience producing live news shows.
• Four-year college degree or equivalent in proven industry experience.
• Applicant must be editorially mature with solid knowledge of national and international news and be able to create an in-depth, visually exciting newscast.
• Must be a strong leader in the control room and be able to calmly handle breaking news situations.
• Must be an effective team leader with strong people management skills. Excellent writing skills-style, language, accuracy, organization, balance.
• Ability to produce quality work quickly.
• Knowledge of iNews and *** source is helpful.
• This position will likely fill a variety of schedules, including overnight hours and the individual chosen is required to be extremely flexible.
• Flexibility-ability to adapt during breaking news, ability to adapt to program or anchor style.
