Mike Jay Films, LLC is looking to shoot a low-budget feature film in mid-June. Prep is negotiable. The rate is $100 per day. A budget of $2,000.00 is available for purchases.

Set in modern-day North Philadelphia, OLDHEAD is an honest drama that combines community themes from BOYZ N THE HOOD with the aesthetic drug world of Hype Williams - BELLY to present a captivating story akin to stories from legendary filmmakers like John Singleton. The tale explores the life of a young man aching to escape a life of crime for the good of his family. The film will be shot in urban locations. Security will be provided. However, we want to make sure that anyone applying for the job is comfortable with these types of locations. The richness is everything to our story.

We are seeking a creative and resourceful Costume Designer to join our team for an upcoming independent film. This is a unique opportunity for an individual passionate about storytelling through apparel, to bring characters to life in a visually compelling manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in costume design , with a keen ability to work within budget constraints and source materials creatively. This role requires collaboration with the director and actors to develop and execute a cohesive visual style that enhances the narrative and character development of the film.

As this is a low-budget independent project, we are looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and is adept at managing multiple tasks efficiently. The Costume Designer will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of costume production from concept to final on-screen appearance, including sewing, alterations, and on-set adjustments. This position offers the chance to be intimately involved in the filmmaking process and to make a significant impact on the look and feel of the film. Candidates with a portfolio demonstrating previous work in a feature film(s) will be given preference.
