Academy Award-nominated production company The Documentary Group is looking for development interns to assist the team across a diverse range of feature documentaries, narrative nonfiction podcasts, and limited and ongoing docu-series. Interns will learn about story development and the pitching process, and gain insight into the funding and distribution landscape for premium documentary projects.

Internship Period: September 13 - December 23
Schedule: 2+ days/week (10am-6pm EST)
Compensation: $15/hour
Location: Remote or NY based

As an intern, youâ??ll:
-Assist our small but mighty team across a broad slate of projects
-Scout literary properties, podcasts, and other IP for documentary adaptation
-Write coverage and research summaries
-Pitch original stories, potential episodes, characters or experts
-Research potential funders and distributors
-Occasionally assist with sizzle reel production and post
-Support podcasts in production with research, transcription, outreach, scripting etc.
