JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
Lightbox is seeking an experienced, organized, and highly creative Manager of Development to join their LA team. The chosen candidate will support the LA-based VP of development, and UK-based development team, in originating and developing premium factual content for a wide range of networks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with the team to originate new ideas.
• Assist in research, people-finding, and casting.
• Write one-pagers and help in the writing of long-form decks.
• Pull media, and create paper edit string-outs of casting tapes and sizzles.
• Write and format layouts for decks, utilizing programs such as Pages and Keynote.
EXPERIENCE:
• Proven experience as a researcher in development.
• Strong writing and formatting skills for one-sheets and decks.
• Great instincts at recognizing potential talent, unique untold stories, and a passion for
finding unexpected worlds.
• A working knowledge of the current unscripted marketplace.
• Proficiency at casting interviews and drafting papercuts.
• Able to work with both independently and collaboratively with development team
members.
• Experience working in development at a production company is a plus.
