Kin is looking for a strategic, diplomatic and well-connected Director of Talent and Development to join our team. The Director of Talent and Development will be responsible for identifying and signing new celebrity talent for Kin owned and operated digital shows, as well as other content partnership opportunities with TV networks and streaming platforms. This person will also be responsible for managing existing relationships with Kin talent and their teams. Leveraging their talent relations expertise and connections with traditional TV and film representatives, this person will play an integral role in Kin’s effort to continue bringing linear talent into the digital entertainment space.

Who You’ll Work With:
The Director of Talent and Development will act as the liaison between talent and their representatives, and internal teams at Kin (i.e. Legal, Programming, Production, Content Strategy, Sales, etc.), building strong relationships, negotiating new talent deals and handling any talent issues that may arise.
What You’ll Do:
● Research, identify and sign new celebrity talent for Kin owned and operated digital shows and other content partnership opportunities with TV networks and streaming platforms
● Oversee talent evaluation and vetting process to secure new talent who are strategically aligned with Kin’s mission, vision and values
● Evaluate incoming talent pitches
● Manage and maintain ongoing pipeline of new talent
● Build out marketing materials to attract new talent
● Work cross-functionally with Programming and Development, Revenue and Content Strategy teams to
ensure new talent meet the needs of programming, business development and sales
● Negotiate deals and agreements with new talent and their legal representatives
● Lead talent through Kin’s greenlight process for new shows from creative ideation to launch
● Liaison between talent and their teams and Kin
● Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing Kin talent and their representatives
● Assist the Programming and Development team in the creative development of new talent-led shows and
other show concepts/formats

What You Have:
● 7+ years of experience in talent relations, with preferably 2+ years at a Director level or higher
● Bachelor’s degree in related field
● Large network of contacts at the top talent agencies, management companies and publicity firms who
represent traditional TV and film talent
● Knowledge of and experience working with traditional, linear talent
● Consumer of digital content and familiarity with what works and doesn’t work on social media platforms
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaboratively work with internal and
external people at all levels
● Extreme attention to detail and problem-solving skills
● Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of contractual terms in the digital/linear space
● Ability to prioritize and multitask while maintaining a level of flexibility to handle shifting deadlines in a
fast-paced environment
● Self-directed by nature and a willingness to take initiative and be resourceful
● Proven track record meeting goals
● Experience managing a team (preferred, but not required)
