ONLY HAPPY APPLICANTS SHOULD APPLY. This is the graduation of 1000 people who have gone through a year long program to be coaches. These people are positive and seriously pumped. Only apply if you naturally smile A LOT. I can't stress this enough. Your attitude is AS important as your skills and kit.
FIlming a year-end graduation of sorts with approx 1000 total people. Shoot will be made up of run and gun interviews and covering a Spartan Race (think CrossFit meets a 6K race)
MUST OWN A C300 MARK II AND LENSES. 24-70 AND 70-200 AND A HANDHELD RIG. SHOULD BE ENG STYLE AS WE'LL BE HANDHELD FOR MANY MANY HOURS.
RATE IS $750/DAY including camera and lenses
DECEMBER 7TH
You'll be working with a mini-team: Shooter (You), Sound, and Line Producer. There will be two teams. The other will be myself with my people. Producers will be on walkies to help coordinate coverage and interviewees.
NOTE: One of the most important aspects is being able to do rock solid handheld/ and or monopod interviews. These are mostly short, 5-10 minutes. We'll be shooting in 4K so I can punch in later. It's critical that I have a shooter who understands the importance of simply holding on the shot, and will stay on the subject solidly so I have flexibility in post.
We'll ride and film attendees on busses to Lake Castaic from The Sheraton LAX. Once at the Lake we'll shoot as much exciting B-Roll as possible and also conduct interviews.
MUST - Be physically fit. We'll be moving fast, working outside, and possibly running at times. This is a mini endurance race and we want to truly capture the excitement as it happens. I need someone who will get down in the dirt if necessary to get "the shot".
When we return to the hotel we'll do more interviews there. Once at the hotel we can use tripods, though everything is still going to be captured "in the moment" verete style.
DECEMBER 8TH
B-Roll and interviews at the hotel. We'll be covering group events and also a stage graduation. I'll need you to work handheld and capture some stage, and a lot of audience interactions.
PLEASE: Send examples of your work and/or a reel. I need to see work that demonstrates you have experience with interviews, both stick and verite, and can work, literally in some cases on the run.
ALSO: Since you'll be on your own for the race and interviews at the hotel you must have a great sense of not only light but sound. In the moment you'll need to pick the best light, not be afraid to push your camera a little (think ISO 2500 and f/3.5 indoors at the hotel) and understand what will work best for sound.
I need someone who is technically knowledgeable, attached to their camera like its a third arm and is fit.
