Job Description

Access Hollywood is looking for a Field Producer to deliver and execute creative content around a variety of topics including entertainment news, human interest, and celebrity features. Reporting to the Executive Producer and Supervising Producers, as well as working closely with our Production teams, this role will be responsible for the execution of daily editorial content covering an array of topics in a variety of forms, from breaking news to red carpets to oversight and execution of package pieces.

This position will crash day of air pieces and breaking news, so writing, edit, and strong storytelling skills are a must. This position will produce in the field and at offsite interviews when needed, source and advance news stories, and work well within a team environment. Essential Responsibilities

Oversee creative segments under the direction of the EP, Co-EP, and Supervising Producers as well as work closely with Production team members to ensure budget expectations are met, staffing needs are communicated, and post/deliverables are executed on time.
Be a one-person band when necessary, crashing day of air pieces for broadcast with quick turnarounds.
Contribute towards building the brand identity by being able to take information and create engaging and interactive formats in which the viewer can participate.

Job Summary/Description:

Local News Live, *** Television’s 24/7 news network, is looking for a Content Producer to oversee day-to-day and long-term planning for LNL’s live, daily newscasts and special projects. This position requires monitoring and securing content from *** ’s markets nationwide while maintaining critical relationships with local stations. The Content Producer will also be responsible for running point on booking *** talent and guests for a range of segments airing on LNL. The ideal candidate will have line producing experience, a strong editorial mindset to accomplish the channel’s brand, and be highly-organized.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Take lead on booking guests and *** talent for LNL’s live, daily productions including newscasts, segments, and breaking news.
Produce segments for LNL’s live newscasts and productions.
Establish and maintain relationships with *** ’s local newsrooms, newsmakers, and guests.
Research prospective guests and provide producers and anchors elements for segments by pre-interviewing guests, gathering elements for a successful on-air segment.
Prepare background information for anchors and producers on topics and guests.
Maintain a calendar of news events and studio schedule.
Work with local station liaisons to gather content from *** ’s newsrooms nationwide.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
• Excellent organizational and time management skills required
• Minimum two years experience involved in live, newscast productions
• Must exhibit an understanding of broadcast, digital, social platforms in a local and national news context
• Must be a self-motivator who demonstrates good news judgment and decision making
• Maintain a positive attitude and work environment

Your New Role...

Your Role Accountabilities...

This producer is responsible for both guest segments and field producing. Must pitch compelling and creative segment ideas on a daily basis. The producer needs strong editorial judgment with the ability to select key video and soundbites to ensure a highly-produced segment. Must have the ability to write package scripts on tight deadlines. This producer will craft hard-hitting segment questions based on thorough research. This position requires someone with significant field experience who can crash field edits or set up live shots.

Qualifications & Experience...

• 5+ years producing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Field production experience and control room experience are necessary.
• Requires a creative thinker with the ability to find new and entertaining ways to present information, new angles to approach stories, and the organization skills to bring it all together.
• Outstanding news judgment, critical and strategic thinking, and an ability to be persistent yet diplomatic are critical for the position.
• Must be able to work an extended schedule as the news cycle and deadlines require.

Base pay is just one component of *** Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $62,300.00 - $115,700.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
