Shadow Legacy is a web series/short film production that is one big genre fusion of sci-fi/fantasy/horror/suspense/psychological thriller. It is a VERY ambitious passion project funded by Denver startup company Surreal Visions LLC. As the CEO and writer/producer/director/editor of this production, I pride myself on building a strong and committed crew that isn't necessarily in this for the money...
I am partnering with Overcranked Pictures, a production company in Utah that is helping to provide the insurance and payroll services necessary to ensure this is a professional production. But, considering the scale of this epic/mythological story and our goals for it (intending to produce just enough quality work to try and fundraise to produce a full pilot episode), this budget is RIDICULOUSLY high for such a small startup company. That said, the pay scale is definitely low budget, but we are hoping to improve that by successfully promoting our hard work later on down the road!
The production days are spread out because of the scale of this thing...For now, our only truly scheduled production day is Tuesday November 30. The day will start around 8am and end by no later than 8pm (possibly slightly earlier), assuming both location permits are approved. We are trying to shoot two scenes at two locations in Colorado Springs - Garden of the Gods and then Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum (the pyramid sculpture in the exterior), which are within 15 minutes drive of one another. Other production days are pending for precise scheduling, but we are aiming to set them up for the last couple weeks of January, perhaps a Saturday and Sunday back-to-back. Then a 4th Production day perhaps the following weekend. But for now, November 30 is the primary focus and the day emphasized for this specific ad. I am just hoping that whoever helps us for this makeup/costumes position on November 30 will also be available for January days...
For the actual day of November 30, the work will be quite minimal, honestly. It will just be a matter of being present throughout the day so that we can focus on applying the best generalized makeup designs possible for both the protagonist (in the first scene at the Garden of the Gods) and the antagonist (for the 2nd scene at the pyramid sculpture). That is literally the only makeup work, because the extras we have for the 2nd scene will all be dressed in cloaks with hoods over their heads and facing away from the camera majority of the time. So there will be a bit of work in organizing, preparing and helping to address possible issues with regard to costumes - primarily just all these cloaks for 8-10 extras! And then the cloak for the villain, which will be a bit more detailed. He may just need some help setting everything straight...
Outside of these small tasks, it would be excellent if you have any other production experience, perhaps with props and set design. In that case, you can fill any spare time by preparing the props for this 2nd scene. For the first scene, perhaps some script supervision because this scene only involves the protagonist and his costume is basic. Once his makeup is applied, the job is basically done. In this case, you can look at the script and pay attention to details, make sure everything that is happening on set matches up to what is happening on paper.
After this easy production day, we will likely want your services for the month of January as well. We will know more about specific dates very soon, at least by the beginning of December.
