Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $31.25-37.50 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. This position requires producing original content for ****9 including interactive-rich digital articles that reach our audience on whatever de *** they are using at the time, as well as finding creative ways to share our storytelling on social platforms. Working alongside other digital team members, the ideal candidate will also be responsible for responding quickly to breaking news and managing content produced by others, including copy editing for our various desktop/mobile/social platforms.

Qualified candidates are very strong writers who have experience posting stories to digital/mobile/social platforms, video and photo-editing skills and the ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.

Responsibilities:

Write and post stories to all ****9 digital/mobile/social platforms
Generate digital traffic through social referrals and SEO best practices
Create enterprise social *** content, as well as reformatting broadcast content for a social audience
Monitor news releases, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other online news sources
Use social *** mining tools to discover follow up and unique story angles

Requirements:

Be an ethical journalist
Prior newsroom experience, with at least 1-3 years digital experience
Excellent writing (stories, social, push notifications), editing and proofreading skills
Strong knowledge of AP Style
Knowledge of SEO best practices and how to implement
Proficiency in running social *** accounts and how to optimize videos for specific platforms
Excellent communication and time management skills
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and manage requests from various sources with an ability to work well with varied personalities within deadlines
Understanding digital metrics and analytics is a plus
