Must have a passion for finance news, personal finance, and live programming.
Responsibilities:
- A high level of market knowledge and news and applies it to improve storytelling and segments
- Develops content coverage throughout the live programming day
- Seeks out innovative new opportunities from the videos being created or the news unfolding
- The producer must pitch, be well-informed and have a deep understanding of the financial markets, pitching segment ideas to the show’s Executive producers.
- Responsible for all aspects of producing segments from reporting, development, script writing, and taking the segment to air
- Responsible for 5-7 segments daily and responsible for a pipeline of segments in the weeks, and months ahead.
- To be successful in this role, the producer doesn’t wait to be assigned and is as comfortable working independently as they are working in large groups.
- Collaborative with bookers, talent, reporters, graphic designers, studio team, and more.
- Always looking for the cool idea that will have folks talking
- Responsible for contents success from concept to distribution
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of producing experience within a major financial news organization, ideally a strong streaming and/or, digital media outlet preferred
- Solid storytelling, and impeccable editorial judgment
- Strong use of imagery, graphics, and animations in video storytelling.
- Deep understanding of how to create content for the audience and the platforms where the content appears.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities, multiple projects, and tasks with ease
- Must have experience shooting and editing (with extensive knowledge of Adobe Premiere)
- Nimble and outside-the-box thinker pushes innovative ideas.
- Strong editorial judgment
- Must be able to work in NYC
