BIG PICTURE:
We are looking for an experienced Controller for our Finance/Accounting Department who can use their financial expertise and analytic thinking to look after our company’s financial health. This individual will work under the Dhar Mann brand supporting Dhar Mann Studios and LiveGlam. They will work closely with the CEO to implement budgeting and cost-saving initiatives company-wide. The perfect candidate will have a creative mindset that enables them to come up with innovative solutions, while identifying and automating manual processes to ensure success in scaling for future growth. Additionally, he or she should also be an excellent communicator as they need to write reports, lead meetings and provide suggestions about company finances. The Controller will oversee all payroll related tasks and financial statements such as balance sheets and invoices. In addition, responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, profit and loss reporting, accounts payable processing, accounts receivable collection, tax compliance, tax management and payroll. The right candidate will ensure all expenses have a proper paper trail, are authorized and can help find creative ways of reducing costs.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines
Manages company budgets and makes financial decisions, analyzes and prepares reports, oversees investments and applies risk mitigation and quality control strategies
Provides leadership and vision for our financial infrastructure to support our high-growth trajectory
Controls expenditures at all levels through daily/weekly review of invoices and services submitted for payment. Reviews and approves all invoices submitted for payment, researches invoices submitted and generally maintains a close watch on all expenditures with a view towards reducing costs
Ensures compliance with statutory law and financial regulations. Must have a solid grasp of accounting and compliance best practices; from reporting structure and audit trails, to proper permits, licenses, or operating requirements for the business
Manages our external relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, and banking partners
Plans company budgets and ensures business expenses are aligned with the company's revenue goals
Oversees all of payroll, sales tax, state tax and federal taxes
Finds creative ways to help reduce company’s tax liability
Works closely with the Accounts Payable manager to review all current processes to ensure timely payment of expenses
Maintain the organization’s accounting principles, practices, procedures, and internal controls, including financial reporting, external reporting, and external audits in accordance to GAAP

WHAT YOU HAVE:
10+ years of experience as an Accountant, Financial Planner, Finance Manager or Accounting Manager
5+ years of experience as a Controller, or similar position
Deep knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP
Experience using Quickbooks accounting software
Knowledge and ability to keep up to date on current federal, state and local accounting procedures and regulations to ensure company practices are in compliance
Ability to communicate (verbally and written) clearly and effectively
Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Decision-making and problem-solving skills
Leadership skills with the ability to delegate, motivate and inspire team members
Honesty and integrity
Ability to manage time effectively

WHO OVERSEES YOU:
The Controller will report directly to the CEO

WHO YOU OVERSEE:
Currently, the Controller oversees the Accounting Associate/s

All the action takes place at our BRAND NEW studio in Burbank, CA!

This role is full time Mon-Friday, flexible hours

Management-level roles will be part of a different Discovery Period for each step of the ladder (but again this does not affect your pay or compensation package).
