ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

Televisa *** News is looking for a Production Assistant based in Miami for the Sunday politics and public affairs program "Al Punto con Jorge Ramos". The ideal candidate will have effective organizational, clerical and communication skills in order to work in the fast-paced environment of a newsroom. The candidate must have an interest in local, national, and international news, politics and current affairs. The candidate will be expected to have excellent Spanish grammar.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

• Assist with many aspects of daily production of a weekly political show
• Graphics & video production, script printing
• Prepare logistics for trips and guests
• Work on clerical work including FCC Reports, music cue sheets, metadata logs
• Monitor latest news and social *** to pitch relevant stories
• Translate aptly from English to Spanish
• Additional production assistance including special coverage and breaking news
• Other duties as assigned

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree in Communication/Journalism or equivalent experience
• Ability to perform well under pressure, manage breaking news situations, meet strict deadlines, and respond quickly to changes

Enough about us! What you'll do as a Production Assistant:

As the Assistant to Executive Production, you will be responsible for managing the time of the Executive Producers and liaising with key Production companies to ensure effective coordination and delivery of our productions. This is a fast paced and pivotal role within the team and requires a highly intuitive, organised and flexible person who is motivated and capable of thinking on their feet whilst ensuring things run smoothly within the department.

Functions will include:

• Coordinating the delivery of programs: liaising with Production Company, managing and distributing scripts, schedules and relevant materials in pre-production, ingesting footage, organising tech checks and updating the TX Schedules.
• Personal Assistant to the EPs: answering phones and emails, extensive diary management including but not limited to; scheduling meetings, set visits, organising screenings, in-house guest greeting, booking travel, collating & reconciling expenses, monitoring delivery schedules across multiple productions.
• Supporting EPs through conducting research and gathering relevant materials on multiple projects and proposals upon request with absolute professionalism and confidence
• General Production Assistant tasks and team admin support as required

Strong camera skills and editing are highly desired. We're looking for someone who is eager to learn about news production and can help our team create engaging content. The person filling this role will be tasked with Videographer duties, operating studio, and control room equipment. Responsibilities:

• Prepare cameras, lighting, monitors, mics and IFBs for live newscasts and studio productions.
• Perform floor manager duties during live and taped productions.

• Daily recording of video, townhalls, and interviews in the field for use by the Newsroom

Requirements:

• Previous work or school related experience is helpful.

Successful candidate will perform traditional production assistant duties ( audio, studio camera, Directing and teleprompter) as well as newsroom duties including editing and using a camera to capture footage that helps tell a story.
