Job Requirements: Must be local to location (or willing to work as a local).

Production Associate wanted to support an Executive Producer of live events and large scale technology projects. First job is 6 months, but the role is ideally long term and will develop into a full time Producer role with multiple scopes. Production Coordinator Level preferred, but Production Assistants eager to learn the business are encouraged to apply.

Salary negotiable. Job is 50% remote, 50% on site in NY area with increased commitments during installations and event launches.

Computer Skills Needed - Google Docs, Excel, Slack, OS, Adobe Suite, Final Cut, an aptitude for figuring out new software. Role will include budgetary responsibilities, permitting, freelance labor booking, creative production and content development coordination. Drivers license and comfort driving in NYC is a bonus but not required.

This freelance role will be responsible for logging and clipping incoming feeds from the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics for European coverage

Receiving and organizing incoming feeds for all Olympic events
Compiling, clipping and logging video for all Olympic events

Qualifications & Experience...

BA in Communications, Journalism or TV/Film recommended.
In-depth sports knowledge of Summer Olympics
Multi-lingual is a plus
Experience with Grass Valley Framelight X is a plus

The Production Assistant is responsible for operating television cameras for live and recorded broadcasts. They are also responsible for moving and arranging set pieces, assisting guests, and other studio-related duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Composes and frames shots, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors.
Adjusts positions and controls of cameras to change focus, exposure and lighting as requested by the director.
Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts.
Confers with directors and other crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements.
Sets up and performs shots for recorded broadcasts.
Communicates with Production crew and News talent during broadcasts, including giving visual cues to talent.
Adds and removes set pieces *** ween segments of live broadcasts.
Maintains studio cleanliness, including vacuuming and wiping down sets.
Assists guests with microphones, equipment, product displays, and other tasks related to appearing on-air.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:

Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Fluency in English.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Minimum one year's experience with camera operation in a television broadcasting environment preferred.
Basic proficiency with computers.
Experience with broadcast-related equipment, including television cameras, preferred.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The Production Assistant must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, reach, climb, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Production Assistant must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Job Description

This is a part-time project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 6 - 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

As a Digitization Production Assistant, you will handle day-to-day and long-term asset management support for the operations team working in a shared storage environment. You will help manage what production material is stored and/or archived, while also working with various production teams to fulfill footage requests.

Responsibilities:

Helpthe *** Sports Group with digitizing the videotape, disc and film archive
Organize and enter metadata for videotapes, discs and film reels in the *** Sports Group's physical *** tracking system
Review all physical libraries to determine which assets should be digitized
Prepare tapes to be sent out of house to be digitized
Assist with the editing of metadata and trimming for new digital files
Track physical *** shipments coming back to the *** Sports Group facility and prepare them to be sent out for long-term storage
Support all of *** 's production teams with footage searches, restores, EDLs, and screeners
Ensure operationally that LTO/ODA assets are being updated as they move throughout the building as they're critical to our operations

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

BS/BA degree in a relevant TV Production or related field; orequivalent work experience
Minimum one (1+) yearof familiarity with use of Avid non-linear editing software and Avid Interplay *** asset management softwareor similar NLE
Minimum one (1+) yearexperience supporting Windows operating environment
Minimum one (1+) yearof prior studio/remote sports production experience
Posses a level of sports knowledge

Desired Characteristics:

Highly motivated and determined individual who can work well independently; self starter
Prior sports experience and/or prior experience working on large sporting events as a *** coordinator or logger are a plus
Ability to quickly understand and assess opportunities and/or problems and respond with creative ideas and solutions
Knowledge and interest in television production and storytelling; demonstrated appreciation for the Olympics
Demonstrated background in contributing to complex projects
Sharp eye for visuals and a fresh taste for music

Assist in compiling research for anchor, maintaining on-air updates during live program
Gather information on breaking news stories for anchors to relay on air
Print scripts for anchors and build updates
Provide daily support by managing calendars, appearance and schedule
Schedule and book travel and meetings, including last-minute travel & related planning for breaking news in war or disaster zones
Organize and schedule meeting and interviews
Maintain and process expense reports
Respond to correspondences

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

At least one year of news production experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
