We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Production Designer to join our team for an upcoming horror film project. The successful candidate will be responsible for replicating and enhancing the production design of a previously shot horror film, ensuring continuity and maintaining the eerie and atmospheric visual style established in the earlier production.
Key Responsibilities:
Replicate Existing Design: Study and replicate the production design from the existing film, paying close attention to detail to ensure continuity in set design, props, and overall visual style.
Collaboration: Work closely with the director, art director, and other key creative personnel to understand the vision and requirements for the film. Ensure that the new production aligns seamlessly with the existing footage.
Set Design and Decoration: Design and decorate sets to match the previously established environments, including sourcing or recreating props, furniture, and other set elements.
Mood and Atmosphere: Maintain and enhance the eerie, suspenseful atmosphere through thoughtful design choices, incorporating elements that contribute to the horror genre.
Budget Management: Manage the production design budget effectively, ensuring that all design elements are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
Research and Planning: Conduct thorough research to accurately replicate the time period, setting, and style of the existing film. Create detailed plans, sketches, and models as needed.
Problem Solving: Address any design challenges that arise during production, finding creative solutions to maintain the continuity and quality of the film's visual style.
Quality Control: Ensure that all design elements meet the highest standards of quality and align with the director's vision and the established aesthetic of the film.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Production Designer, particularly in the horror genre, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for design continuity.
Strong understanding of set design, decoration, and prop sourcing.
Ability to work collaboratively with a creative team and take direction well.
Strong organizational and budget management skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle the pressures of film production.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly convey ideas and plans.
There will be a one day Prep rate for pre production work. We are shooting in one location and most of the furniture is and design is still on location.
