- Title: Cryptid
- Job Requirements: Must be local to location (or willing to work as a local).
-
Additional Requirements:
- Are you able to build sets with tools that you own?
- Have you built a cave set in the past?
We have a scene at the end of our currently filming indie horror movie that takes place in a cave. We originally were going to film inside a natural cave but with the winter coming it's become difficult and so we are looking for a creative individual who can design and build a small cave set inside of an open floor warehouse building that we rent. The cave itself is supposed to look like a creature tunneled underground so it is a small room and a tunnel leading to a slightly larger room. It should look like earth not rock, and the rooms should be modular so that they can be taken apart for filming and to create the hallway and other larger room with the same pieces. I'm thinking a frame and chicken wire with painted burlap.
Filming would be only two days inside the "cave", but there would be setup time on both ends.
Applicant would be responsible for drafting plans and prints, and be the lead carpenter in the project and run a crew of his/her hiring to build the cave start to finish, including faux finishing to look like an earthen cave.
Applicant will also need to produce a full budgetary breakdown of all costs and expenses as a submitted quote.
