PRODUCTION MANAGER/PRODUCER ROLE
VIMBY is a creative content studio that specializes in rich storytelling on behalf of brands. Our work spans traditional marketing, social first formats, corporate communication and CSR. At VIMBY, creative is really about how to bring richer stories to life in the way that works best for the platform; we look well beyond the 30 second spot to a variety of different formats.
We are looking for a self-starter who can help us develop and maintain strong production guidelines while wearing a Producer hat for select projects. This role will be a primary point of contact for crew members, suppliers, and select clients, so strong written/oral communication skills is a must.
This position has three main areas of focus:
• Production Management – Playing a lead role on working with crew, suppliers, and the internal VIMBY team to manage a production from client greenlight through delivery. Individual will work with creative team to identify production needs, recognize potential obstacles, and implement production solutions that fit within the approved budget parameters.
• Producing – Playing a key role in all aspects of pre-production and production while being one of the main liaisons between the client, crew, and the VIMBY executive team ensuring the production is produced to client and VIMBY standards.
• Reporting – Creating various reports from pre-production manuals to call sheets to invoice compilation to wrap out and cost reports.
Responsibilities include:
• Lead / Day-to-day point person on most small to mid-size productions while overseeing other production management & coordinator roles on larger projects.
• Sourcing and hiring the most applicable equipment and crew based on location and project creative.
• Sourcing and coordinating scouts for the best and most economical shooting locations.
• Creating, managing, and maintaining a production schedule from pre-production through post production and delivery.
• Managing talent communication and expectations.
• Working closely with various personnel on VIMBY team to ensure projects are meeting client expectations. Evaluating and implementing course corrections as needed.
• Conducting meetings with staff to discuss production progress and check-ins to ensure production objectives and goals are being met.
• Creating, managing, and maintaining cost budgets throughout a production. This involves updating cost tracking reports, managing budget overage requests and approvals, collecting all crew invoicing and timecard paperwork, closing out projects, and communicating with VIMBY’s finance team throughout a project.
• Key team member in ensuring that all productions are run within VIMBY’s standards and guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Producer / Production Management experience at an agency, media/publishing or production company
• Strong time-management and scheduling skills
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience with production budgeting software is a plus
