- Job Requirements: On-location production (all travel costs covered).
Looking for a Field Production Manager for a mostly travel-based outdoor-oriented docu-series.
This position will oversee one field team that will travel back and forth between 3-4 locations around the US for the next few months. Must be comfortable working in outdoor locations in a variety of climates.
We typically film at one location each week and then travel onwards to the next. Crew are typically on the road for 2-3 weeks at a time before flying home to rest, reset, and prep for the next round.
We're looking for someone who can manage a crew of roughly 8-10 people on the road and in somewhat remote locations. We work with a mix of locals and travel-crew. This position will have some remote office support to prep future shoots, but we're looking for someone who feels comfortable operating mostly independently while in the field (there will also be a field producer, set PA and set medic in addition to the tech crew).
In addition to overseeing the crew/set in the field, this position will send out daily call sheets for the team and handle basic production reports. The office team will sometimes tackle this for busier shoots, but this position will also handle travel booking/arrangements, additional field covid testing when needed, additional crewing as needed, and shipping gear/media.
A strong sense of set and travel logistics is a must. Experience with larger vehicles - box trucks/RV's will also be helpful. Because we're a smaller crew, this position will be expected to drive. A willingness to jump in and help wherever is needed on-set is essential.
We have a great core team (and one additional field team), and we're looking for someone with a positive attitude who will mesh well with the existing team and can roll with the punches while out in the field. Maintaining solid communication with the office team, especially in terms of cast/crew welfare, insurance/safety requirements, and any unexpected developments from the field will be extremely important.
At this time, we can only hire individuals who can show proof of covid vaccination (with a few exceptions). Mask wearing and temp/symptom checks are still required on-set, and this position will help oversee and enforce the covid protocol (with assistance from our set medic). Covid testing is required for all crew/cast before traveling and on a weekly basis for longer shoots.
This is a fairly long run - we're filming until November/December, so we're looking for someone with an open schedule and who enjoys being on the road.
We're looking to start someone in the next couple weeks to start prepping remotely (you can be based anywhere in the US). This is fun (and challenging) show with a great team and hope you can join us.
