JOB DESCRIPTION: Boston, MA based part-time Stringer/Field Researcher will go to the Boston courthouse to research information contained in pending small claims cases. As a stringer, you will be looking for interesting and compelling small claims cases that our show can produce for daytime television. In some instances, you may need to drive a good distance to and from courts. Driving time is paid for, and mileage is reimbursed. You will need to keep in regular and frequent contact with the Los Angeles home office. This is an excellent opportunity to gain both legal and entertainment experience for your professional resume.

The Researcher position at Nightly News Weekend is a great opportunity to learn and master all of the building blocks of broadcast news, while also gaining experience working on deeply reported and highly produced pieces for air.

As a Researcher, you will work directly with Producers and Senior Producers to help write and assist in the production of original content for Nightly News.

Responsibilities:

As a Software Development Engineer for WB Games NY, you will be performing white box testing of plugins and other products written for Unreal Engine and other platforms to test and verify correct functionality. The Times Union is seeking an experienced offset journeyman pressman to join its Albany, NY, production operation as a Substitute. If hired, you will work with a close-knit team responsible for maintaining and operating a state-of-the-art KBA Commander CL press that produces Times Union and numerous commercial print publications in a high-quality and cost-effective manner, seven days a week.

Qualifications

5-10 years of web offset newspaper or commercial printing experience.
Able to produce high-quality print results on a consistent basis.
Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
Well-developed verbal communication skills.
Fluency with computerized press controls and operator interfaces.
Technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude for newspaper printing operations, including equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Hours : Primarily evenings and weekend evenings, but hours can vary based on training and production needs.

Pay: This is a union position with an hourly rate of $27.11 per hour (equals 80% of a Fulltime Journeyman's pay rate). $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days, and another $500 after six months of satisfactory performance.
