Docu-follow reality pilot shooting for 1 week is seeking a Segment Producer with experience filming in and around LA.

Primary duties will include...
-Booking/clearing locations, working with production on permits, running point at locations
-Securing necessary elements/props for segments
-Securing releases and agreements (guest appearance, location, etc)
-Keeping track of segment budget

The right candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude, and be proactive and organized. Must be comfortable with medical procedures.

We follow very strict COVID 19 protocols, so please be comfortable getting tested on set, wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, etc. Must be fully vaccinated.

There will be 2 full weeks of prep and shoot is the week of Feb 7th.

In this role, you will pitch stories, produce research packets, gather elements, and work closely with on-air talent. The ideal candidate can find their way around a CMS, works quickly and efficiently, loves researching products, and has basic photo editing and data analytics skills. Popular Mechanics is the authority in a number of key categories including lawn and garden, tools and home improvement, electronics and technology, appliances and smart homes, and outdoor leisure. You'll have the opportunity to touch content that reaches over 8 million users per month. This is a content creation role, not a writing-based role, however there will be some opportunity to write during major sale events so digital editorial experience is a must.

This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.

You have demonstrable experience identifying and producing shareable/viral news and perspective content. You canpitch unique story ideas and create short original videos catered to each social platform's audience.You have a passion for news, politics, current events and know what stories spark engagement for each social platform's audience. A social *** expertwith strong knowledgeof all platforms, their audiences and social *** trends.

Responsibilities:

Identify and produce shareable news content for social *** platforms
Produce breaking news on social *** platforms
Produce editorial content for multiple platforms (video, text, photo)
Fact-check text, captions and ensure all photo, video meet the content, quality, journalistic and legal standards of MS ***
Write eye-catching and accurate headlines and captions that spark engagement
Create and produce graphics and photo posts with headlines for Instagram
Experience in shooting content, editing and producing in a compelling creative way
Experience writing for TV (news and perspective)
Partner and collaborate with show producers on daily editorial content for platforms
Collaborate across teams on breaking news, newsmaking interviews, special events for strategic rollouts

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years experience in social *** news production
At least 2 years of political producing/writing experience
Demonstrable experience identifying and producing shareable/viral news and perspective content
Expert knowledge of all social *** platforms, their audiences and social *** trends
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, in-app editing, CapCut
Demonstrable experience producing eye-catching graphics
Strong production vision - ability to envision a segment or package and turn it into reality with social engagement
Demonstrable content producing with creative devices that stand out
Experience in turning breaking news vertical content for social platforms
Create and produce graphics, photos with headlines for Instagram (expert with Figma, Adobe Photoshop)
Self-starter - ability to enterprise ideas, ideate daily pitches, shoot video when needed, and work well independently.
Work professionally in changing and challenging situations and be able to react quickly under rapid deadlines
Proficiency with digital gear (camera operations, microphones)
Have a good attitude (eager, cooperative, energetic, team-oriented)
Must be willing and able to work flexible hours and different shifts for breaking news (evenings. weekends)

Job Description

What you'll do:

At *** , Booking Producers work within a show unit to pitch ideas as well as book guests for a live show.

Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to:

Find and book compelling guests for the show, following booking protocols.
Maintain planning editorial calendar with important upcoming news events and book relevant guests in advance
Book guests for breaking news events (this may include early morning or after-hours outreach)
Implement work with guidance from Senior and Executive Producer.
Conduct pre-interviews of guests and identify key headlines for segment
Handle any necessary travel logistics for guests
Coordinate with guests and companies to secure guest headshots
Establish, develop and maintain good relationships with financial and business news sources.
Work with anchors on confirming their bookings and coordinating logistics
Book control room and edit time for pre-recorded guest segments
