Face the Nation is seeking a Senior Producer in Washington! This person will be responsible for close coordination with the Moderator and Executive Producer on the editorial content of the broadcast, running the broadcast as needed in the control room, overseeing video segment production as needed, and following breaking news as well as policy as related to the broadcast needs.
Senior Producer will also be involved with overall production and editorial of the show, working collaboratively with the Executive Producer, Director, Senior Broadcast Producer and Coordinating Producer on coordination and supervision of all production elements, story pitches, editing, studio and field production needs.
Candidates must be decisive multi-taskers with top-tier journalistic judgment and be able to work optimally and expertly in a fast paced environment. Candidates should have an excellent command of legal and journalism standards processes, and field, edit booth and control room experience. This position requires an understanding of news gathering and of broadcasting technology as well as a broad knowledge of political, national and world events and newsmakers, plus a passion for finding new and compelling ways to promote and expand Face the Nation's broadcast and digital presences.
Must be willing to work adaptable hours on a Wednesday-Sunday work week schedule, with ability to stay on top of news and developments in off-hours.
Qualifications: - Excellent writing, organizational and verbal communication skills.
- Remarkable interpersonal skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness is a must.
- Washington editorial experience a plus.
