Production Sound Mixer/Boom Operator needed for a narrative short film in Los Angeles from award-winning filmmaker Angad Aulakh, alum of Ryan Murphy's HALF Initiative program for diverse filmmakers. Angad's last project, THE ATOMIC DREAM, is Oscar-Qualified, having recently played at SCAD Savannah Film Festival, winner of 22 festival awards and 33 nominations. Emmy-Winning DP Charlie Wuppermann and award-winning composer Tim Despic are reteaming with our director. The film is an original and elevated horror story set in present-day. The shoot is on location at a private home in the West LA area.
JOB DETAILS:
Looking for a collaborative and resourceful individual who is comfortable working with an efficient and focused skeleton crew (both for on-set COVID safety & shoot efficiency). We're looking forward to a successful, safe and fun shoot in a collaborative and ego-free environment! The shoot is two days (evening into night) on a weekend in January (either 14/15 or 21/22). Having your own gear is preferred but not a requirement. Most scenes include only one actor and there are two dialogue scenes with two actors.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Angad Aulakh is an award-winning filmmaker, whose most recent, Oscar-Qualified short film, THE ATOMIC DREAM [https://deadline.com/video/oscars-the-atomic-dream-short-angad-aulakh/], has been the Official Selection at festivals around the world, including most recently at SCAD Savannah Film Festival and winner of 22 festival awards and 33 nominations. Angad's previous feature film was a New York Film Critics Series (NYFCS) Pick by Peter Travers (Rolling Stone) and he was subsequently chosen as a Director Mentee for Ryan Murphy Television's Half Initiative for diverse filmmakers in Film/TV. The director is an alum of NYU's Tisch.
DATES:
2 days on a weekend on location at a home in West Los Angeles (Either January 14 & 15 and 21 & 22, 2023). Please let us know what your availability is like for those two weekends.
COVID REQUIREMENT: For the safety of all cast/crew, we are requiring that all individuals on this production be vaccinated given the very small size of this shoot and the uncertainty of what the Winter will look like. Individuals must be willing to follow all COVID safety protocols during production. Thank you!
