**** 11 has an im *** te opening for a full-time Writer for PIX11 news broadcasts. The position is based in New York, NY.

Responsibilities include writing stories for various television newscasts, desk-top editing of video for the stories you write and working to coordinate lives shots from reporters and photographers in the field under deadline pressure.

In addition to writing, the writer will contribute creative ideas for broadcasts and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of ENPS systems is ideal.

The applicant must have at least 3 years of experience as a writer or producer of television news broadcasts. They must have a college degree in Journalism or Mass Communications, or significant related experience.

Applicants must demonstrate a facility with language and a writing style that is designed to be off-the-cuff and fun, yet authoritative and credible. Strong writing, video, news judgment, and internet skills are essential.

Applicants must possess the ability to work well under pressure and work well with others.

This is a union position with starting rate at $27 + per hour

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Create and assemble script for the show.
• Oversee distribution of show related paperwork to proper departments.
• Track script changes with writers, producers and production departments.
• Relay script changes to teleprompter operators and cue card team.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• 1+ yearsexperience working in News or other similar fast-paced live broadcast deadline environment.
• 2+ yearsexperience in Television Production.
• Must have knowledge of Final Draft, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Slack.
• Willingness to work long hours and on weekends with short notice.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Job Description

E! News is looking for an experienced, passionatecandidate to join the NY digital news team in a hybrid weekend writer/editor role. This person will be responsible for writing and publishing content daily while editing junior writers and conducting interviews for E! Online. This person will also spearhead E!'s weekend coverage, working Saturday-Wednesday.

The ideal candidate has experience working in entertainment, strong news judgment and an understanding of the E! audience. They will also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and use data-driven analysis and social conversations to determine content and pitch ideas. The candidate will work well in team settings and also on their own, thriving in the autonomy of the weekends, when they will be the driving force *** ween our coverage.

Responsibilities :

• Write and publish 5-7 pieces of content daily, ranging from trending news stories and galleries to interviews and breaking news
  • Work under tight deadlines, providing clean, clear copy
• Edit copy for other writers in a timely manner, providing grammatical feedback as well as notes on style, tone and fact-checking
  • Ability to self-edit when necessary
• Determine strongest news stories to pursue on the weekend and work quickly and efficiently to publish content
• Identify and pitch stories, viral trends and celebrities that help start conversation and drive page views, social referral traffic and engagement
  • Seek out clever angles, second beats and attention-grabbing headlines
  • Familiarity with analytics, ability to examine story performance and identify follow up angles to continue to increase page views and engagement
• Pitch and conduct interviews with celebrities, identifying strongest angles afterwards and writing up in a timely manner
• Work alongside the team in covering tentpole events, brainstorming lead-up coverage and writing articles in real time during red carpets, award shows and other pop culture events
• Collaborate with social team to promote content across the portfolio
  • Understanding of E! social audiences and ability to post on E! social when necessary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

*** Sunday Morning is seeking an experienced freelance writer with exceptional writing and strong communication skills to be an integral part of the editorial team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Craft copy and write introductions to segments airing in our weekly 90-minute broadcast for Anchor Jane Pauley and any Correspondents who may substitute for the Anchor.
• Work with senior staff and producers and correspondents on writing elements within pieces.
• Occasionally write brief segments -- such as our passage/obituaries.
• Exercise unbiased and sound news judgement and write in accordance to the *** News policies, editorial standards and style.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• At least four (4) years of television News writing experience

DESCRIPTION:
Write compelling, succinct, clear news scripts under tight deadlines. Write stories according to station policies, editorial style and rundown. Research and evaluate news stories and sources.
Coordinate the video editing of news stories. Assist in the producing of news segments and breaking news special reports. Exercise sound news judgment and comply with **** News editorial standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should have the following experience and skills:
• At least 2 years of television news writing.
• Experience on Inews/ENPS or equivalent news computer system.
• Ability to create clear, compelling, succinct news stories from raw materials including: unedited video, reporter notes, desk notes, telephone interviews, wire copy.
