Ensure that talent and guests microphones have charged batteries, that microphones are on proper frequency, turned on properly and have corresponding IFB's (when applicable). Ensure talent is on the set, miked and informed of the cues in use. Prior to air, verify that all studio equipment is working properly. QC audio levels and mix using QC monitor in audio booth. Update music request playlists on a daily basis with music requested from executive producers. Know camera-blocking positions for newscasts. Ensure camera shots are in focus and framed according to camera directives from Director. Create creative bump shots along with standard formatted shots. Change batteries in microphones and IFB's when necessary. Leave studio, PCR and audio booth clean, orderly and safe at the end of the newscast or production taping. Be familiar with Sony ELC coding and show execution to fill in as needed. Make minor repairs to IFB's, microphones, monitors and audio board as needed. Essential Functions

Provide technical support for live meetings, presentations, conferences, teleconferences, webinars and distance learning classes including coordination of graphics and connectivity.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The production technician will operate auxiliary equipment as part of *** 32's live news and sports productions. These include but are not limited to robotic cameras, graphics and audio. The ability to excel under pressure in the fast-paced environment of live local news alongside a talented team of producers and directors is required.

Responsibilities include: serve as technical co-pilot for all news and sports programming, experience with studio LED lighting, ETC lighting consoles, Ross studio camera robotics, SSL audio consoles, and Chyron graphics system the ability to mix multiple audio sources during any news or sports program, experience in an automated production control room environment, interaction with talent and guests using excellent interpersonal communication, verbal skills and a professional demeanor is critical.

Other duties may include recording news and programming feeds and tuning in Satellite and Microwave signals, preparing content for broadcast by ingesting and timing *** as well as judging technical quality. Previous experience with or ability to learn Grass Valley iTX master control automation system is also helpful. Knowledge of windows server/client platforms, high performance storage systems and video encoding/delivery systems is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS: Five or more years of television production experience is preferred. Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to proactively isolate and resolve technical problems within network and broadcast systems. You must be a team player that is able to work independently as required. You must have in-depth troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform successfully under pressure are essential. You must be able to multi-task. Previous experience and knowledge in an IT architecture infrastructure is a plus. Must be flexible with schedule including working on weekends and holidays. The ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs is needed. Position requires membership in NA *** Local 41 union.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining tools for use in a computer graphics environment.
At least 5 years production experience in visual effects for film, commercials or television.

Required Skills/Competencies

Proficiency in Linux
Advanced Python scripting required
Experience in one or more of Maya, Nuke, Houdini, Mari, Katana, RenderMan or similar
Ability to communicate cross-discipline and provide innovative solutions to pipeline issues.
Detail oriented and strong self-sufficient troubleshooter.
Thorough understanding of the entire visual effects process, from shooting to modeling and texturing, animation, rendering and compositing

Preferred Skills/Competencies

Experience with production database systems
Experience with C, C++
Experience with Windows development and applications such as 3ds max a plus.

Job Summary:

Production Summary

The Technical Assistant position is an exciting opportunity for a
technical individual who enjoys problem solving and a passion for cutting edge
technology to contribute across all aspects of production at ILM. This position
provides assistance directly to artists and production staff and works closely with
production and software engineers to enable the success and efficiency of the
production pipeline.

What you'll do:

• Troubleshooting and dynamic problem solving for layout, animation,
lighting, and post-production workflows
• Image/ *** handling, including conversion, manipulation, quality control,
and playback for visual reviews
• Render troubleshooting and queue management
• Data management, including monitoring/cleanup of disk space usage, file
transfer, and quality assurance
• Communication *** ween artists, production, and technical groups for the
timely resolution of any issues affecting production.
• Data archival and restores
• Automation of common tasks and reports to improve efficiency of all
aspects of the production pipeline

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
• Aesthetic eye and/or artistic background highly desired.
• Proven knowledge of and experience with Windows and UNIX/Linux
operating systems.
• Professional experience programming (i.e. C/C++) and scripting language
experience (i.e. Python, Perl) a must.
• Understanding of, and experience with, 3D modeling/animation software
(i.e. Maya) highly desired.
• Familiarity with film, video and animation post production and/or computer
