SUMMARY:
YMU is seeking a full-time Videographer to join its Media Arts Lab. The Videographer is responsible for shooting and editing all of YMU’s visual projects, including performances and interviews, and other media content. The Videographer will work closely with our team, headquartered in the Wynwood area of Miami, Florida. Experience working with young artists is essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setup and record videos and/or photos for all YMU visual projects including interviews, performances, music videos, etc. Work will be conducted on and off site.
- Complete all post-production for photo and video shoots including editing, retouching, color correction, etc.
- Manage and update shot logs during all recording sessions.
- Maintain a clear file naming and storage system.
- Export all video and photo files and upload them to Basecamp after each session.
- Maintain proper functioning of all video/camera gear and keep inventory of video equipment.
- Communicate effectively and timely with supervisors on progress of assigned projects.
- Work on editing revisions after receiving feedback from Marketing Director, Programs Director and/or CEO or COO.
- Export files following YMU publishing guidelines. For concert recaps and “From Live to Your Living Room” (FLTYLR) series, export full episodes and individual segments.
- Conduct livestream concerts using Streamlabs or similar softwares.
- Attend weekly Media Arts Lab Meeting and project-specific strategy meetings.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Video Production or Video Editing; or 3+ years of videography experience (work with a studio or marketing agency preferred)
- Experience in both video editing and photography
- Experience working with young artists
SKILLS
- Adobe Creative Suite including: Premiere, Photoshop & Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects
- Final Cut Pro X
- Graphic Animation
QUALITIES
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and meet deadlines
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with members of the team
- Ability to work under direct supervision and independently
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs, and will be expected to assist with moving equipment pertinent to media productions.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Background in music preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary: $40,000
- $150 per month healthcare stipend (with proof of insurance)
