RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurate reporting of news stories
- Attend editorial meetings and regularly pitch original story ideas.
- Develops community contacts and a network of news sources.
- Must be able to ad-lib live breaking news by telling a compelling story.
- Works with photographer, producers, desk in the development of a story
- Regularly updates newsroom on story elements and progress.
- Uses social *** to update news stories to the public.
- Attend station partnerships in the community.
- Anchor weekend newscasts and specials produced by the station.
- Regularly write and proofread stories on assigned broadcasts
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.A. or B.S. Degree preferably in journalism or communication
- Previous TV anchoring and reporting experience strongly preferred.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must interact positively and productively with employees in the field and in the studio.
- Uphold station values and models professionalism on and off the air.
- Strong on-air presentation - must be credible, personable, and engaging.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to accept constructive direction and feedback.
- In line with reporting duties, individual must be flexible with schedule and be willing to work additional hours or days or different shifts and holidays as required by news content.

- Can perform duties and make decisions under extreme pressure.
COMPENSATION: Starting $43.27/hr commensurate with experience and skill level
