Job Summary:

Part of a team of electricians under the direction of the Facilities Manager applying an established work-order dispatch system. Responsible for maintaining all electrical related systems on The Woodlands campus.

Primary areas of attention are supporting technical production, transmission, and data center facilities and technical equipment rooms. Must have ability to work independently when needed, but should also have a consistent record of working well in a team environment. Ability to competently work with external contractors, sub-contractors and consultants is necessary.

The Corporate Real Estate Operations group is responsible for day-to-day facilities operations, capital planning, and engineering operations of owned and leased facilities to ensure business is conducted in a clean, safe, and efficient work environment and that the value of Company physical assets is protected and enhanced, adhering to the highest level of engineering standards

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain all electrical equipment and systems for The Woodlands facility infrastructure, including emergency generators, dual-ended substations, as well as the office building.
• Work primarily indoors on main & branch circuit distribution, emergency power, UPS systems, motor controls, lighting, detection/monitoring equipment, and Fire Alarm systems.
• Install power, data, voice and fiber optic cabling for office renovations and MAC (move, add, change) projects.
• Maintain and operate a sophisticated electrical distribution system including diesel-driven emergency generators, paralleling switchgear, medium-voltage substations, main-tie-main distribution switchgear, redundant UPS systems, digital static transfer switches, and associated branch circuit distribution panels.
• Perform Infrared Thermography testing and generate performance documentation reports.
• Maintain updated electrical parts inventories.
• First responder to general electrical and fire-alarm problems including equipment and distribution systems.
• Assists in performing necessary commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures (such as field verification of system functions to ensure the proper operation of building automation systems).
• Assists in the implementation of energy conservation measures by applying and/or modifying the existing building automation-system features.
• Respond to customer ser *** requests in a timely manner.
• Respond to emergency calls.
• Prepares drawings and diagrams of system additions or revisions after installation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.Z

Basic Requirements

• Demonstrated ability with operating and maintaining all aspects of power distribution including Medium voltage distribution systems, 13.8 kV synchronizing switchgear, dual-ended substations and UPS systems is required.
• A thorough understanding of emergency generators and Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) as related to high-reliability, important environment is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working on fire alarm systems installations, or other low-voltage systems installations including structured cabling.
• Qualified applicants will possess a working knowledge of physical plant safety programs and shall be able to demonstrate understanding of fire life safety procedures and requirements.
• A thorough understanding of NFPA 70, 70E and 70B.

Preferred Requirements

• The successful candidate possesses a current state of TX Journeyman Electrician or Maintenance Electrician License for a minimum of 5 years.
• Experience in critically important power systems in a Broadcast Technical environment.
• Can fix and repair building-automation-system field cabinets, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
• TX Journeyman Electrician or Maintenance Electrician License

Basic Education

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education

• College degree in a related field is a plus
• Industry accredited certificate is a plus

Position Summary

The Lighting TD designs and implements direct and reflected lighting and shadows for assigned shots that meet art and tone direction. Ensures that assigned shots fit the continuity of the sequence. Develops solutions and techniques that meet art/technical direction. Participates in team review of work under development. Able to navigate and use previous setups for at least a dozen shots, insertion of shot specialization, managing multiple assets and lighting setups. Also able to light using varying shadowing strategies, imitate distributed light sources. Management of volumetric light setups, including shadowing and cucoloris development. Also able to light, material assign and render for actors using CG hair and scattering skin materials.

What You'll Do

• Design and create lighting and the look of computer generated objects and scenes
• Create images, effects, and scripts for digitally composited sequences
• Compile various elements of a shot and see it through to completion
• Demonstrate good listening and communication skills by openly receiving direction and criticism by asking good questions to confirm clear understanding of the directions and how to approach what needs to be done. Once clear, implements the requested changes im *** tely and raises flags right away if a solution is not quickly found or if there are any delays, making sure the Supervisors and Production are kept in the loop and are up-to-date on the status of one's shot work.
• Demonstrate solid presentation/communication skills in dailies/shot review by clearly and briefly outlining what has been accomplished and what next should be addressed in the shot
• Demonstrate solid problem solving skills
• Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks managing time very well, providing everyone with accurate time estimates on shot task completion

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years relevant professional VFX experience and at least a college level diploma in computer graphics, fine arts, design, or photography, or related field; OR, at least 5 years relevant professional VFX experience in lieu of education.
• Experience with either Katana, 3DS Max, Maya, Houdini or similar software.

What You Will Do
Lighting Artists are responsible for lighting, rendering, and compositing shots together with both character and environment renders into a final frame until it meets the vision of the Director, Production Designer, Director of Cinematography: Lighting, and Lighting Supervisors.

Lighting Artists present shots in a dailies environment, effectively communicate issues regarding their shots, and deliver top-notch work within production deadlines.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Understanding of color, contrast, and lighting design
• Notable production experience with 3D lighting and compositing
• A strong visual sense and the ability to distinguish subtle differences that affect the matching of elements crafted in multiple mediums
• Strong knowledge of Houdini
• Solid understanding of a node-based compositing system (i.e. Shake or Nuke) required
• Global illumination lighting such as V-Ray, Arnold or similar experience required
• Strong in-depth knowledge of Unix and/or Linux
• Strong problem solving skills and a good eye required

Responsibilities:

Every day as an Appliance Electrician is different. On any given day or night, you might:

• Troubleshoot equipment problems at one of the many restaurants to keep the food flowing.
• Be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairing electrical systems/assemblies, lamping, installation of receptacles, switches, bending conduit, and resetting breakers.

Basic Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Ability to perform maintenance on food preparation and holding appliances/equipment. Understanding of and ability to operate under Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines and other food safety/sanitary guidelines. Must also be able to troubleshoot and repair gas and steam systems applied in commercial kitchen equipment.
• Technical competence, the ability to read and understand detailed instructions, blueprints, flowcharts, schematics and engineering documents, and pass all compliance for technical and safety training
• Knowledge in the control and repair of circuits and motors
• Keen troubleshooting skills and comfortable working alone or in a team.
• Ability to evaluate the scope of a job, resolve needed parts/materials, and order through authorized vendors
• Expertise using common hand tools, meters, gauges and other associated test and measurement equipment, as well as ability to measure current, voltage and amperage
• Proficiency in the basic math skills needed to do the job, differentiate colors, digital literacy, and full understanding of the National Electric Code
• Stamina and the physical ability to undertake the job. You might bicycle, bend, kneel, climb, push vehicles to re-position them for repair, work with arms/hands above shoulder level for an extended period of time, climb (sometimes as high as 200 ft.) and more, all on a regular basis

You will be required to use 2-way radios, learn CMMS (MAXIMO work order system), attend/pass compliance and other training sessions to ensure accurate maintenance documentation
Electricians may work outdoors in all weather conditions, in an industrial workshop, in kitchens with wet/slippery surfaces, and may have occasional exposure to high temperatures, noise levels, and fumes
In addition to the physical tasks listed above, Electronic Technicians may need to push/pull and/or lift up to 10 lbs. constantly, up to 25 lbs. frequently, up to 75 lbs. occasionally and rarely up to/over 100 lbs.

Schedule Availability - Must be open to any shift (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) including weekends, holidays, with any combination of days off.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of experience

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Freelance Lighting Technician to join our New York Bureau! As the Freelance Lighting Technician, you create and maintain lighting effects and cues for *** News Channel and *** Business Network programming and production. The Freelance Lighting Technician will have daily and project-based assignments and work directly with Studio Operations Supervisors, Lead Stage Technicians, Directors, Producers, and other studio crew. You are creative and have an interest in the news and entertainment industry.

• Support and assist Lighting Director and Stage Tech leads
• Stagehand, rigging, light board operation and programming, special effects, location setups, etc.
• Ladder work
• Set maintenance and repair
• Prop and storage coordination, organization, and maintenance
• Prep, hang, and maintain support and storage facilities
• Operate specialty equipment (bucket & scissor lifts)
• Understand and implement backup protocol when necessary
• Assess, advise and assist with proper stage, scenic and lighting set-ups

• 1-3 years of lighting/stagehand experience
• Understanding of ETC lighting consoles (programming, patching)
• Willingness to work overtime and additional shifts to meet the demands of breaking news, programming, and production, specialty scenic or light calls, and/or shift coverage
• Knowledge of digital test equipment for troubleshooting and repairs
• Knowledge of electrical systems, lighting effects, and electronics
• Familiarity with trade and power tools
• Carpentry skills
• Understanding of the importance of health and safety procedures
• Flexibility in working under the pressures of live programming and time constraints
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work with heavy grip gear for extended periods
