Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) Studios and Production Services is hiring a Production Manager to support and perform administrative and production tasks for the entire production department as needed. The production manager will be report to the Vice President of GPB Studios. GPB is a statewide dual licensee comprised of 9 PBS television stations and 20 NPR radio stations that broadcast across the state of Georgia.

Candidate Responsibilities:
• Manage budgets for client and internal productions.
• Responsible for a variety of daily office activities to include: scheduling meetings, booking Studios/Rooms, preparing materials for productions, shipment & and receiving, ordering supplies, keeping notes and distributing accordingly, reviewing freelancer invoices & and time cards, ordering supplies, and other duties as needed.
• Assist with studio setup for GPB client & internal productions, and serve as an onsite contact during studio or field productions.
• Prepares contract documents for all studio and field shoots.
• Coordinates the distribution and management of releases for client talent and locations.
• Works to coordinate crew fulfillment, which includes pre-production, production, and post-production.

• Serves as the point of contact to ensure client delivery of final program/product in the requested format and any DVD duplication.

• Supervise all production engineering staff and schedule all television production work.
• Supervises and evaluates assigned staff, directs work, processes employee concerns and problems, and counsels and disciplines.
• Acts as liaison between the creative, technical, and logistical aspects of productions; provides technical assistance as needed.
• Arranges for transmission and telephone service for remote television programs.
• Provides the organization with long-term planning regarding facilities and personnel; advises Director of Engineering of production needs.
• Maintains production policies and procedures; identifies and resolves organizational and personnel problems.
• Maintains records of production activity and attends various meetings, professional workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Interacts with other television stations and oversees studio safety programs and activities.
• Performs other administrative tasks as needed which may include conducting remote surveys, evaluating various equipment for purchase, and renting outside equipment and facilities; substitutes for co-workers in temporary absence of same.
Candidate Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Television Production, Communications, or related field required;
● Five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in television production and broadcasting;
● 1-2 years of experience working in a television production environment; or a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access, or a similar database is required.
● Familiarity with editing in Final Cut or Adobe is a plus.
● Ability to work flexible hours, during events & and productions which includes nights and weekends.
● Must be a diligent, detail-oriented worker who is efficient, a creative problem-solver, and not afraid to ask questions.
● Must maintain a professional demeanor while working with talent and crews during productions.

New staff:

Assisting the Production Managers welcome new Wall to Wall West/twenty Twenty staff - including email signatures, completing relevant new starter forms, passport scans and preparing desks, enrolling all new starters on to the compulsory Health and Safety training courses, sending them log in details and ensuring the course has been completed.Work with the London Talent Team to manage work experience placements in the Bristol office
Liaising with the London Talent Team to enrol Twenty Twenty new starters into the buddy scheme
Organising building passes and any additional required passes
Welcoming new starters and giving them an office tour including letting them know fire exits, drills etc,
Coordinating with the London team, and relevant Awarding body to submit both companies for awards throughout the year, collecting, organising and submitting all necessary clips and paperwork

General office duties:

Acting as a point of contact for general enquiries and viewer queries for Wall to Wall West and Twenty Twenty, dealing with them or passing on to the relevant person in an efficient manner.
Checking Twenty Twenty leavers inbox on regular basis and responding/forwarding all queries
Receiving visitors for key production personnel; including providing refreshments for internal meetings and booking meeting rooms when required
Overseeing office equipment and maintenance, liaising with either the landlord or the London IT help desk when necessary
Overseeing the office seating plan, coordinating with new teams where they will be sat in the office
Maintain up to date Bristol contacts list and Wall to Wall Bristol email group - adding/removing any new starters and leavers
Coordinating the day to day management of suppliers, building maintenance, weekly maintenance checks by Mitie. Keeping track of jobs logged via *** and making sure these are completed.
Assuming responsibility for keeping a tidy office; encouraging production storage and wrap up, liaising with Facilities and IT where applicable.
Coordinate buying any office furniture, pictures and general dcor,
Overseeing any internal and external props storage, including our storage container at Safe Store, Bedminster ensuring a storage inventory is kept up to date.
Independently organising & overseeing all company events both internal and external including the Christmas party
Oversee the safe-keeping and inventory of equipment including cameras, drives H&S equipment, IT equipment, etc held in the office for Wall to Wall West/Twenty Twenty.
Responsible for booking equipment and drives for Wall to Wall West/Twenty Twenty and keeping an up to date record on who received them and ensuring the safe and timely return of all equipment
Ensure all laptops are properly logged in and out - who is using them and on what production. Ensure safe return of laptops to London in bullk
Manage a drive log for Wall to Wall West/twenty Twenty - which drives contain material to be saved and which can be reformatted for re-use on other productions
Book conference calls and set up online calls
Update Twenty Twenty Productions Limited's website
Assist with maintaining a social *** presence on Twenty Twenty's Twitter & Instagram
Book couriers/taxis/travel as requested
Update the Quikbase database with status and details of Twenty Twenty productions and key developments
Ensure stationery and printer materials (paper, toner, ink) are kept stocked

****, *** 61 in Hartford/New Haven, CT is seeking a Production Assistant to serve in a variety of production crew positions during live news broadcasts and recorded studio and remote productions

Responsibilities:

Operate robotic, studio, and remote cameras
Operate audio during live and taped productions
Perform floor manager duties during live and taped productions
Operate teleprompter
Operate tape machines for both playback and record
Operate Jib camera and Steadi cam
Assist in set and light of both studio and remote projects
Live shot coordination during broadcasts
Regular maintenance of studio facilities and remote equipment
Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

Requirements:

1-3 years industry experience preferred

Pay Range

$20.19 - $21.63 USD
