NYC based production company looking for an experienced Assistant Editor to work the Night Shift on an Avid Based Network show. Room for growth and a longer term position possible for the right candidate. This show is a heavily archival, verite based True Crime docuseries with a long run ahead. While responsibilities vary from day to day, they could include; prepping exports, minimal grouping and syncing, prepping for mix & color, ingesting from various sources and frame rates, creating and placing titles, assisting with network deliverables, and general support for our AE, Edit and Production teams. While a plus, True Crime experience is not a must. However, AVID experience in a television environment absolutely is.

Please note that at this time we are only seeking someone for the NIGHT shift and due to the nature of the footage, remote work is not an option.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We have an exciting opportunity for a Freelance Producer/News Editor to supervise the staff for our network radio news operations (terrestrial and *** News Headlines 24/7 - Channel 115 on *** Radio). As the Freelance Producer/News Editor you are our editorial leader, working with news anchors to craft the content and structure of a 24/7 news operation. This is fast-moving news environment! Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven newsroom allows you to deliver top-quality segments/newscasts. You excel at multi-tasking and pay close attention to details. Your writing and editing skills are excellent and your editorial judgment is first-rate.

Shifts: Weekend mornings, afternoons, overnights - plus opportunities to fill in during weekday shifts.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Format, program, coordinate, and produce a live news program
Produce segments and reporter hits
Manage and maintain clear communication with Reporters, Editors, Assignment desk and Anchors
Keep newscast updated by working on developing stories as the day progresses
Handle staffing issues when managers are not present

At least 3-5 years of experience editing all-news radio or producing live breaking news in a television control room
Highly skilled in writing and copy-editing

As a Video Editor, you have hands-on experience working with video editing and motion graphics software, where you create and deliver the final cut yourself. You will collaborate with our marketing teams, *** global brand, and cross-functional teams to create dynamic and engaging video content across a variety of executions.

Key job responsibilities
The candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of audio and video editing processes and software, specifically for theatrical-level movie and series trailers, along with experience in digital marketing at fast-paced environments. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- • Online portfolio or demo reel link in the resume showcasing previous video editing work. • 3 to 5+ years of experience as a video editor in a creative agency or similar creative production environment. • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in fields related to Video Editing, Audiovisual Production or an equally strong and relevant portfolio of work. • Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills, 3 to 5+ years of professional experience working with these tools: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop. • Knowledge of A/V production workflows, particularly short-form or promotional content like trailers, ad units, etc. • Knowledgeable on A/V video formats (such as .mxf, .dnx, ProRes, H.264, .mov, .mp4), subtitle formats (.itt, .srt) artwork formats (.psd, .jpeg, .png), aspect ratios, frame rates, conversions, and codecs. • Proficient spoken, written and conversational English communication skills (C1 minimum, 90%). • Able to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. • Strong time management skills and team-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines. • Knowledge of basic captioning and localization processes (i.e. implementation and timing of subtitles and dubbed audio tracks). • Experience with working within Digital Asset Management Systems, naming conventions, file management and working files archival processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
