Lucky 8, a Stamford-based full-service production company, is currently seeking Assistant Editors for all shifts (Day, Night, and Swing).

Responsibilities would include:

Ingesting and organizing media.
Preparing and maintaining projects for Editors and Producers.
Communicating clearly and effectively with Coordinators and Supervisors.
Grouping and syncing multi-camera shoots.
Exporting internal working cuts and deliverables for network review.
Assisting in online workflow and conforming finished episodes—including, but not limited to: uprezzing, blurring, and placing final archival, GFX, and VO.

Our ideal candidate would be able to multitask well across multiple projects, be comfortable in deadline driven environments, and effectively communicate with multiple members of a team simultaneously. Qualifications are as follows:

We’re willing to work with candidates from different backgrounds and experience levels, regardless of if you're coming from TV, broadcast journalism, commercial production, or the independent world. But, you must be able to work as a local to Stamford, CT, as we’ll be transitioning from WFH.

Must have some experience in Post Production. Must have some familiarity with AVID. Must be comfortable using Google Office or Microsoft Office suites.

Preferred (but not mandatory) Qualifications: 1-2 years experience as an AE or Post PA. And, any After Effects experience would be great.

Job Description
Finance news brand is seeking an experienced video editor to edit engaging, informative and timely video features, recurring series episodes and in-depth interviews. The video editor will regularly work on segments ranging from eight to 10 minutes with opportunities to expand stories to 25 minutes for OTT platforms.

These originals will be expected to capture viewers' attention through their sharp perspective, approachable style, and clear relevance to the biggest investments and financial questions investors face. You will help spearhead execution across a range of programming formats.

You will work closely with reporters, studio, graphics, and more to elevate brand’s feature video stories. Salary: $62,400 - $77,520

We have an exciting opportunity for a Freelance Producer/News Editor to supervise the staff for our network radio news operations (terrestrial and *** News Headlines 24/7 - Channel 115 on *** Radio). As the Freelance Producer/News Editor you are our editorial leader, working with news anchors to craft the content and structure of a 24/7 news operation. This is fast-moving news environment! Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven newsroom allows you to deliver top-quality segments/newscasts. You excel at multi-tasking and pay close attention to details. Your writing and editing skills are excellent and your editorial judgment is first-rate.

Shifts: Weekend mornings, afternoons, overnights - plus opportunities to fill in during weekday shifts.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Format, program, coordinate, and produce a live news program
Produce segments and reporter hits
Manage and maintain clear communication with Reporters, Editors, Assignment desk and Anchors
Keep newscast updated by working on developing stories as the day progresses
Handle staffing issues when managers are not present

At least 3-5 years of experience editing all-news radio or producing live breaking news in a television control room
Highly skilled in writing and copy-editing
Ability to handle breaking news situations
Strong editorial judgment is a must
Ability to interact with high-profile talent

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
Knowledge of iNews, ENCO and Adobe Audition (Cool-Edit) a major plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $31.25-37.50 per hour. News Editor

*** Sports seeks a dynamic News Editor for this full-time staff position must be skilled at identifying news and emerging storylines; gathering and organizing articles and other sources for background, potential human-interest stories; and evaluating and summarizing key points of storylines or commentaries to enhance and support the coverage across *** Sports productions, including by not limited to *** Sports College 247.

A strong News Editor displays confidence in anticipating and reacting to breaking news and other developing storylines across multiple sports, with an emphasis on college sports and particularly college football. The ideal candidate excels at communication and collaboration to decipher news with urgency in a fast-paced environment; deliver context and recommendations for news presentations; and engage with a variety of content contributors to maintain editorial standards across all presentations.

The News Editor will be responsible for providing editorial oversight to multiple production personnel, for planning and facilitating coverage for upcoming news events, for working with external partners to acquire relevant material for news storytelling, and for partnering with cross-department contributors to ensure consistency, quality and reach of our newsgathering.

To successfully deliver editorial guidance to all productions, this News Editor must have strong sports knowledge, the ability to make quick editorial decisions, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate is passionate and knowledgeable about sports journalism and storytelling, enthusiastic about contributing to and committed to upholding the highest editorial standards of the *** Sports brand.

Responsibilities:

Conduct newsgathering and provide editorial guidance across multiple platforms. React to breaking news with an emphasis on accuracy, creative storytelling, and relevance to our productions and our audience.
Monitor news feeds, including searching social & other *** outlets, and work with *** Sports reporters and other editorial staff to gather and evaluate relevant news and information
Communicate regularly with studio producers and other production contributors to discuss developing news and provide guidance on the presentation of that news within our programming.
Write, edit and review scripts and graphics for accuracy, style and editorial value. This includes skills at writing to video and for broadcast news (ex. writing for voice over and packages).
Serve as the leading editorial voice during live studio programming and partner with producers to generate urgent, effective coverage of breaking news.
Coordinate with and support management and all production staff to maintain editorial standards for newsgathering and coverage on broadcast and cable platforms
Draft suggested questions and topics for interview subjects and analyst discussions
Identify outside content for use across productions
Work closely with Production personnel, on-air talent, and content creators throughout the Sports division to pitch ideas, fact-check content, and respond real-time to questions and requests for guidance.
Proactively identify and suggest solutions to address potential coverage angles and storylines
Prepare general background/research material for other entities as needed.

Qualifications:

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and communicate with urgency and clarity to producers, on-air talent and production associates.
Excellent working knowledge of and interest in multiple sports, especially *** , college football and college basketball, golf and soccer
Must possess strong research skills and editorial judgment.
History of working collaboratively across departments with peers and colleagues to advance content and coverage
Must have experience performing well under pressure, including a proven track record of responding effectively to feedback even up against deadlines for air.
Experience at gathering visual elements, prepping graphics and editing packages for segments is preferred
Must be a great teammate with proven interpersonal skills

Experience:

3+ years of newsroom or other editorial experience, preferably in journalism, production or related areas.
Bachelor's degree in Journalism or equivalent training and experience
Prior experience in sports journalism field is a plus
Experience in digital and/or video preferred

Location

This is an in-person full-time role in Nashville, TN. Candidates must be available to work full-time in office.

Role Accountabilities...
