What You’ll Do:
Between event and production rentals, our facility is rented out 3-4 times per week and needs maintenance and supervision. First and foremost, you’ll tend to the facilities needs – organizing and maintaining camera, grip and lighting equipment, facility maintenance and cyc painting. You’ll be the technical go-to rep during all stage rentals and remote productions; managing rented equipment and helping to set up for productions. For remote productions, you likely be on site as a camera assistant, tech, grip, AC, Mixer, or cam op (depending on your skill set).
Who You Are:
We're looking for someone who's been in the industry for 2-5 years minimum and has naturally gravitated towards the Camera, grip and electric side of the industry. We will also expect you to have the knowledge or aptitude to learn camera menus, camera set-up, basic sound mixing, monitor calibration and other technical skills. If you have aspirations of becoming a writer, director, or producer, this isn’t the job for you.
Because the job is multi-facted, and involves both vendor and client relations, facility maintenance, and production experience, we need someone who is very detail oriented and very organized. You need to have a 110% positive attitude, be a problem solver and self-motivated. This position is geared toward someone who is a fast learner and welcomes the opportunity to grow and take on increasing responsibility. You need to be calm under pressure, professional, and have the ability to interact with crew and clients in a positive manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage, organize, and maintain stage and studio facilities, including camera, grip, and lighting equipment.
· Experience dependent: serve as data manager, camera assistant, cam op, grip, ect. on studio and field productions
· Oversee organization, function, and selection of necessary equipment on studio and field productions.
· Assist vendors, crew, and staff in production, coordination, and organization of shoots.
· Interact with clients while providing the highest level of service
· Opening the studio before client arrival; turn on house lights and music, review equipment laid out on the stage based on pick list.
· Accurately and efficiently pulling lighting and grip orders and staging in studio in an organized manner
· Check and test all grip and lighting equipment to ensure proper functioning prior to client use
· Working with clients throughout the day during check-out and check-in process of grip and lighting equipment at the studio.
· Creating stock checks and short lists to establish and maintain accurate inventory counts.
· Communicating customer requests, order changes, and/ or paperwork specifications to management.
· Properly assessing and completing minor repairs to equipment.
· Ensuring that all sub-rented gear is picked up from and returned to the correct vendors.
· Driving as needed to pick-up/drop off for clients or sub vendors
· Help maintain facilities as well as helping on any general ad hoc projects.
Compensation:
Salaried – 60k
~50% of days are 8 hours long. ~50% of days are 12 hours long for shoots or rentals.
