  • Job Requirements: This is a remote job.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Have you cut shows that are built strictly from archival b-roll, interviews, and recre (i.e. there's no reality footage or scene work)?
    • Are you actually available (*approximately*) during the timeframe listed, plus or minus a week or two in either direction?
    • Is it just my bad luck or is Trader Joe's fresh produce just a little disappointing most times?

Greetings!

Our team is seeking exceptionally talented editors who have experience cutting non-fiction shows entirely out of interviews and VO, plus generous helpings of archival footage, stills, good recre and stylish graphics. In other words: shows that don't have any scenework, field shooting, or on-camera housewives throwing wine in Linda's face because she said *her* gift basket was going to fetch more at tonight's charity auction.

No guys with beards doing manly things with machines, either. (Update: I've been reminded that we might actually have a little of this via our ambitious and cinematic recre. Whatever.)

No harm if you've done those kinds of shows (we have, too); it's just not what we're doing here.

We're doing an action-filled, super-stylish show about some crazy-bold, true-life characters who did some amazing, not-entirely-legal things. (Sorry, it's gotta be vague for now.)

And we're looking for the Right Someone(s) to come aboard, collaborate with our open-minded creative team, and elevate this thing even further. This will most definitely NOT be the same-old, same-old. Meetings with enthused network execs have already included the phrases "pushing the boundaries of the brand" and "time to have some fun."

We're taking them at their word and looking to send them cuts so exhilarating and "next level" that they get a little nervous -- but the good kind of nervous ("Can we... do that?").

If you have the credits that tell us, "Yeah, I can do all that and more" -- please apply. If you have those credits AND you've cut promos and sizzle reels, bonus. Being able to cleverly illustrate concepts efficiently and with style are what we're looking for. And we're even somewhat flexible on the start/end dates for the right person.

[Hey, PLEASE have the right credits. I can't look at another applicant who tells me they haven't done this yet, but have looked at dozens of Avid tutorials and are super confident. I appreciate the go-getter attitude, but no.]

Don't stop now... keep hunting!
