Editor Role - New Formats

We are looking for ambitious Editors to join our Editorial Production team to own and lead the development of various book projects in our data-driven creative process.

Ideal candidates have editorial publishing expertise and have successfully partnered with authors, editors, designers and freelancers to create distinctive new content. This role is for Editors who are ready to take on new challenges, are interested in innovating how book publishing works, and enjoy working in collaborative, adaptive, high-energy creative environments.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the development of high-quality content to bring joy to our customers.
What You'll Do
Own, lead and manage editorial book content development, including writing, editing and copyediting.
Manage and guide multiple book development projects aligned with strategy and specifications, market positioning, and target customer audiences.
Collaborate cross-organizationally with strategy, design, art and production to inform content development strategy and visual direction.
Own and maintain exceptional content development quality ensuring compliance to standards and policies.
Define content creative briefs and assign freelancers to develop content.
Partner with and support authors and freelance creatives in the development of book content.
Partner with art and design to inform strategic visual direction.
What You'll Bring to the Role
4 years of editorial experience in book, magazine or digital media publishing.
Exceptional writing and editing skills; knowledge of Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary and The Chicago Manual of Style.
Experience and interest in working in a customer-focused mission-driven adaptive environment.
An impressive understanding of content development, along with editorial and marketing factors that enable books to succeed.
Experience developing high-performing nonfiction titles on time and within budget.
Proficient project management skills, including experience managing freelancers and working on a high volume of projects.
Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and execute independently so you can deliver on tight deadlines.
Impeccable interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively
Highly motivated and ultra-organized.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
