THE PROJECT:

We are creating a series of TV Public Service Announcements and a feature-length documentary film about America's housing crisis.

Millions of Americans cannot afford their rent, despite working full-time jobs. Just last week, an article appeared in the Wall Street Journal entitled Thousands of Working New Yorkers Are Living in Homeless Shelters.

Without a good, secure home, everything falls apart. And the resulting impact on healthcare, education and crime costs our nations billions each year.

Our mission is to do for housing in America what Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth did for the environment.

This project is being produced by Public Interest, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, founded two decades ago by multi-Emmy-winning director Michael Franzini, along with Frank Scherma and Jon Kamen, CEO and President of Radical Media. Franzini will direct the PSAs and documentary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Field Producer would be responsible for scouting areas of interest looking for subjects that we could use in the PSA’s and feature-length documentary. You must be comfortable approaching strangers on the street and performing preliminary interviews. We would ideally like someone to start ASAP.
