Emmy-awarded Brooklyn-based TV production company is currently looking for a Head of Production.
The Head of Production is responsible for the supervision of all productions as well as the team of production managers, coordinators and producers, while directly line producing two series and all the company's Development budgeting.
The Head of Production is a key management role and integral to the success of the studio. As well as oversight and responsibility for each individual project, the Head of Production will also cover aspects of new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* overseeing production management on multiple series happening simultaneously while directly line producing 2+ series budgets
* creating budgets and producing complex TV series in the US and abroad
* staffing projects at all levels
* interfacing with network executives, production counterparts and legal across all projects and series
* managing office needs (expansions, equipment inventory management, IT, etc.)
* creating budgets and cost reporting for all major networks
* working closely with production accountants across all financial operations
* keeping up-to-date on standard insurance, legal, and labor practices
* working with Development to create budgets and schedules for new projects
* working closely with Director of post-production and monitor final materials delivery of all projects
Additional Responsibilities:
Assessing production needs, allocating Producers and production teams to each project
Maintaining an overview of all producers’ schedules ensuring projects are completed to highest standard achievable, on time and within budget
Monitoring project costs in line with production progress and overall budgetary targets
Meeting regularly with Head of Finance to monitor projects margins and ensure that producers are working within given financial targets
Overseeing liaison with clients in areas of responsibility and budgetary importance as needed
Working with President and Head of Finance to set approved budgets at start of each project/series
Qualifications:
Extensive experience (at least 5-7 years) in senior staff line producer/Head of Production capacity
Thorough understanding of the TV production cycle and post-production process
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with clients, producers, artists and senior management, both written and verbal
Exemplary organizational skills, with experience of using production schedules, projecting production costs, manage office resources under tight budgets while managing multiple projects simultaneously
Calm under pressure, resourceful and a creative problem solver, used to working to strict deadlines and on own initiative
Experience hiring staff and freelance artists, and hiring, managing and mentoring production staff
Preferable but not essential, knowledge of budgeting software Media Services Showbiz/ Movie Magic Budgeting
Compensation based on experience
