At **** the Broadcast Engineer's main responsibilities are to help maintain the technical infrastructure for the TV station, and to support a fast paced news operation.

This is a full-time, union position

We prefer that candidates have a passion and some experience in most of the following areas:

• State of the art broadcast equipment, with an emphasis on broadcast control rooms, studio operations, graphical equipment, and news gathering equipment and software
• Strong experience with PCs, laptops, servers, and networking equipment is desired
• RF technology including satellite and microwave transmission
• Cellular newsgathering equipment
• Experience with IP based *** workflow is desired
• Some knowledge of FCC Broadcast rules and regulations is a plus
• Experience with high-powered solid-state broadcast transmitters is a plus

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who pays attention to detail and is a team player. Other key responsibilities, attributes, and characteristics include:

• Maintain positive and proactive communication on all technology related issues among all other departments (News, Sales, Production & Promotions)
• Assist in capital-based projects, including design, installation, and then maintenance
• Flexible, but also focused on completing tasks and projects
• Must be able to occasionally work weekends, longer hours or varying shifts when necessary to meet production and broadcast emergencies or deadlines
• Knowledge of CAD drawing programs (Visio), editing, (Adobe Premiere) and MS Office Suite preferred
• 3 years of broadcast TV maintenance preferred
• A college degree and or SBE Certification are highly desired
• Any and all other duties as assigned

*** News Bay Area is looking for a Digital Line Producer to work on *** News Bay Area's local live streaming network. The DLP will work with the Executive Producer generating, managing, and optimizing live and on demand video content for mobile, desktop and OTT platforms.

Responsibilities Include:
The right DLP will be able to write, edit and produce live and pre-recorded news content.
• Timing out live productions in a control room environment.
• Managing and executing live news events.
• Managing interviews and crafting content to be featured on the stream.
• Helping to code/stack rundown content during live and non-live events.
• Producing, writing and editing for broadcast shows as needed.
• Working with the web team to publish stories and other content to the website.

Basic Qualifications:
• Recent college grad with 1+ years of experience preferred in helping to create and build show rundowns in cable, broadcast, or digital environment.
• Ability to work under extremely tight deadlines to write headlines and edit video for live digital broadcast.
• Detailed knowledge of social *** and the competitive digital news environment.
• Familiarity with non-linear editing systems and iNews preferred.
• Available for early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays; this is a 24-hour streaming service.
• Experience with Crispin and iNews is a huge plus.
• Understanding of SEO

Hiring Salary Range: $85,000.00 - 91,500.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. NEWS PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Description of Duties:

This is an entry level position. The duties are primarily clerical and technical. Production Assistants collate scripts printed for the newscasts, and deliver them to the studio and control room. They operate teleprompter during the newscasts, and locate and retrieve file video and archive information. They also assist producers, writers, reporters, assignment editors, and newsroom managers in other duties related to newsroom operations. These duties include answering phones, logging tapes, sorting mail, maintaining the tape library, and other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

Strong writing and communication skills required. Must be able to type well, spell perfectly, learn quickly, work well with a variety of people, and meet the tough standards of the high pressure environment of news broadcasting production. B.A. degree with some background in Journalism preferred. Knowledge of television production, previous internships with news organizations, and familiarity with the Bay Area helpful. Clear understanding and strong interest in government, politics, economics, environment, criminal justice, and other issues of public interest.
