What started as a 2 week documentary about the indomitable will of the local people as a feel good story, turned in over 2 months of undercover journalism, learning about narco-terrorism, bribes, gun smuggling, hundreds of contacts with the local military, US department of state contractors, gun dealers, government agents, and a once paradise, being now used for the narcos for their operations.

All these information being told from the perspective of a female who initially just wanted to head home and see how she could make a difference.

I have shot amazing footage in locations rarely given access to, partner with strategic allies in the local government and am ready to put the story together, I just need a visionary that will help me make it a reality.

Did I also forget to mention there are also Enchanted islands and a breathtaking backdrop in one of the most beautiful (yet currently dangerous) places on Earth?

This might be a very unconventional way to put together a project, but maybe it's time to disrupt the way the industry works.

Reporting to the Executive Producer and Supervising Producers, as well as working closely with our Production teams, this role will be responsible for the execution of daily editorial content covering an array of topics in a variety of forms, from breaking news to red carpets to oversight and execution of package pieces.

This position will crash day of air pieces and breaking news, so writing, edit, and strong storytelling skills are a must. This position will produce in the field and at offsite interviews when needed, source and advance news stories, and work well within a team environment. Must be comfortable developing ideas that work across all *** including on air, digital, and social *** .

Essential Responsibilities

Oversee creative segments under the direction of the EP, Co-EP, and Supervising Producers as well as work closely with Production team members to ensure budget expectations are met, staffing needs are communicated, and post/deliverables are executed on time.
Be a one-person band when necessary, crashing day of air pieces for broadcast with quick turnarounds.
Contribute towards building the brand identity by being able to take information and create engaging and interactive formats in which the viewer can participate.

Job Description

*** 4 and *** 52 have an opening for a digital content producer to join our innovative multiplatform news team. We are looking for a self-starter who can get work done without extensive direction. Experience with Search Engine Optimization, social *** video management, content management systems, covering both breaking news and feature stories, and using social *** as both a reporting and engagement tool are important.

Fully bilingual (Spanish and English) is preferred. A deep understanding of local news and culture in the Los Angeles DMA is a plus.

Report and write original stories daily for our stations' digital platforms, primarily *** losangeles.com.
Select, report, write and edit high-value stories, ensuring the voice, tone and mix of content fits with the overall editorial strategy.
Collaborate with TV reporters and producers; repurpose, enrich and publish broadcast video and scripts for digital formats.
Curate content across all our digital properties and perform regular quality assurance checkups.
Help manage and grow our video-based social *** platforms YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

Use data analytics to help guide content strategy in real-time and in planning stages.
Collaborate with TV reporters and producers; repurpose and enrich broadcast video and scripts for digital formats.
Use SEOSearch Engine Optimization and social *** strategies to engage our audience and reach new users.
Help plan digital coverage of news events and station tentpoles.
Work across departments, including marketing and community, to execute station initiatives.

Qualifications

A minimum of an undergraduate degree, preferably in journalism, communications, political science or Spanish or combined college and work experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience
Experience as an editor, writer or digital news producer at a news organization that creates content under tight deadlines.
Understanding of SEO and social *** strategies.

Desired Characteristics

Excellent Spanish language skills, including speaking, reading, writing and copyediting.
Experience working with TV newsroom software, newscast rundowns and scripts is a plus.
Multiplatform video production skills, including editing in Adobe Premiere.
Experience or familiarity working with live streams and technical troubleshooting.
Basic understanding and demonstration of solid editorial judgment and journalistic ethics, including a current knowledge of laws of libel, slander and applicable FCC rules and regulations.
Experience in the Los Angeles market and familiarity with Southern California audiences and communities.
A deep understanding of internet culture is a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a Promotion Producer to join *** 11 & **** 13's in-house creative team. Work alongside our Creative Director, Managers, Editors, and Designers to conceptualize, write, and edit compelling promos in the nation's 2nd largest market. From producing on-air topical, programming and image promos to creating sales reels and TV Upfront presentations, this position plays a vital role in the success of our station!

Working with your supervisors, you'll handle the complete production process. This includes pre-production planning, scripting, supervising voice-over talent and graphic designers, creative editing, sound design and final packaging of promos. You will also be responsible for directing anchors, lighting/camera crew members and reporters. Using on-air, OTT and digital platforms, you'll contribute to the team's success of creating effective audience-targeted promotion. Must be a highly organized, dependable, creative problem solver. Perform other duties as needed, and as directed by the Creative Services Director and Department Managers.

Must have at least 3+ years experience in a medium or large TV market or similar field. College degree preferred. Must be able to work on multiple projects at once, hit tight deadlines, be a strong communicator and have strong conceptual skills with the ability to direct talent. Recommended to be familiar with ****/**** News & Programming. Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, *** Encoder) or similar editing software knowledge and Microsoft Office experience required. Familiarity and working knowledge of Wide Orbit, Slack, Quip, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Box is helpful.
