Athena is looking for a talented technical production/stage manager who has a passion for solving problems, managing change, and improving efficiency. This person will function as a production lead on all aspects of hosted and produced events (virtual, in person and hybrid) and will need to ensure successful outcomes and maintain positive relations with event producers and clients. We work in a spirited, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and thrive in this setting. This is a short-term contractor position (Aug-Dec 2021).
Specific project responsibilities:
Production Management
-Advance production logistics on events: Hybrid/on site/virtual
-Produce and maintain a production schedule hosted and produced events
-Act as a stage manager to execute events
-Oversight on technical discipline, daily checks, operation and maintenance
-Collaborate and liaise with AV technical crew
-Communicate with Executive Producer and Technical Director on event details and information
-Oversee and direct vendors and freelance crew
-Produce event documentation: ROS, call sheets, floor plans, prop list, check lists, etc.
-When necessary, responsible for video switching and calling video line cuts
Venue Management
-Establish and maintain inventory control policies and procedures
-Maintain equipment inventory
-Develop and oversee operational resets
-Maintain archival video/photograph documentation for all events & exhibits
-Basic video and graphic edits
-Recorded media and co-producing post-production content
-Oversight on all house lighting/video rig, daily checks, operation and maintenance
-Participate in pre-production and the rehearsals process to ensure changes are carried out smoothly and safely
Requirements
The skills and experience you should bring to this project:
-6-8 years of experience in event production and operations
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience; event management, venue operations, hospitality, administration
-Proficient knowledge of production/theater/events practices
-Proficient at Microsoft Office suite
-Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred
-CAD experience preferred
-Flexibility and the technical expertise to setup and run gear
-The ability to problem solve throughout the production process
