SUMMARY: Support the Studio’s mission to be the studio of choice by providing our clients with the finest customer service and support. The Stage Manager is a primary liaison for information and problem solving between the studio and our clients. This position is responsible for assuring the client is well taken care of and any production related requests are handled quickly and thoroughly. The goal is to instill the utmost confidence with the client and handle all situations with a professional, friendly and supportive approach.
RESPONSIBILITES:
• Work closely with all studio departments to assure optimum communication of all production activities.
• Closely monitor and manage stages, support space and production related areas at the facility.
• Assist Security and Parking team with accommodating production needs.
• Accurately communicate any billable services to Sylmar Studios Finance Department.
• Identify any issues with the studio’s facilities and report the problems to the appropriate studio department.
• Educate and ensure the production clients comply with all studio policies and procedures, as well as all government regulations, fire and safety codes, cleanliness, etc.
• Act as the main repository for all production activities and efficiently communicate to all
• Sylmar Studios departments in order to provide the client with seamless solutions.
• Complete Sylmar Studios production reports in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.
• Complete daily stage checks and assure client paperwork is accurate. Responsible for
• opening stages and securing stages and production areas at time of wrap and keeping an accurate log of activities.
• Inspect and report any maintenance and repair issues in addition to any safety violations. Ensure that all fire extinguishers in production areas are in good working order.
• Participate in client walks when required, including tech scouts for any location shoots taking place on the properties.
• Understand the studio’s emergency preparedness plan, fire regulations and safety protocols.
• Responsible for hazmat collection and disposal program.
• Coordinate 3 and 40 yard trash bins for clients.
• Supervise third-party furniture supplier during move-in and move-out periods.
• Participate in OSHA, Fire Safety, Forklift and Hazmat certification programs.
• Prepares and processes expense reports in accordance with studio policies.
• Responsible of pantry, office supplies and office equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• General understanding of production and studio operations business is key.
• Proficient with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email and internet
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with diverse populations.
• Always exercise discretion and confidentiality as it relates to information about plans, staffing, internal activities and company trade secrets and other confidential information.
• Ability to multi-task with composure in a fast-paced environment with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
• Make sound decision and set goals based on available information and evaluate situations and requirements to plan and adjust work accordingly.
• Must be able to work independently and without direct supervision; able to make decisions about the severity of variable situations and evaluate the most appropriate response.
• Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• Demonstrate sound work ethics.
EDUCATION:
• College degree or equivalent experience.
Hourly position paid on a bi-weekly pay schedule. 28.85-36.00/hour
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPOSURES:
Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a seated position, go outside, stand, walk and move about the property, climb stairs, bend and reach. Vision with or without correction must be sufficient to read. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds daily; up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of talking and impart thoughts or ideas accurately.
Fluctuating Work Hours: Production schedules change constantly. This position needs to be flexible as it relates to a predicable work schedule. Since this position supports production clients, Stage Managers must be prepared to align their schedules based on the demand of the clients.
Exposures: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is rarely exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; blood borne pathogens.
