Hummingbird is a new OTT streaming ser *** launching in Q2 2018. The ser *** will carry both linear and VOD channel content from the SBG portfolio and third-party vendor channels. It will cater to a broad audience demographic with a focus on localized programming output and be available across the USA. Project Habit will launch across the main OTT platforms including Apple TV, Roku, *** Fire, iOS, Android and websites.

The Editor-In-Chief reports to Project Hummingbird's General Manager and is the lead creative executive for the service.
The role will be based in Los Angeles and work in close collaboration with Sinclair's Programming and News divisions in Baltimore as well as Sinclair Digital Solutions and technology teams in Seattle.
This position requires a thorough understanding of the OTT video ecosystem and emerging digital technologies. Must possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills in order to effectively interact with the network of SBG stakeholders on a regular basis. Direct experience in the launch and ongoing development of an OTT video ser *** is required.
A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team oriented and results-driven environment.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Lead an engaged, motivated and driven team to edit, schedule and deliver quality content in a high-speed working environment.
- Lead the process of scheduling new video feeds while also simultaneously reviewing and processing content sent in from existing and on boarded partners.
- Ensure the ser *** is programmed in such a way that will increase the reach and commercial viability of the market proposition.
- Work closely with leadership, colleagues and customers across the operation to ensure the smooth running of the Programming team around the clock.
- Work within a diverse national team, processing content from across the company, its affiliates and partners
- Manage the programming P&L in collaboration with the GM and other colleagues where required - manage and deploy editorial budget effectively, ensuring ROI.
- Ensure that the targets for the team are met and, when possible, exceeded.
- Provide robust technical developments and recommendations to improve the ser *** platform, creating efficiency in collaboration with technology and product teams where appropriate.
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree. Post graduate degree a bonus.
- 8+ years of experience in the broadcast, digital and/or social video content space leading programming function and teams.
- Excellent knowledge of the social web, video platforms and social communication tools.
- Solid experience of working across multiple platforms and genres of television content
- A deep understanding of how to organize and manage content ingestion and editorial / scheduling / programming teams to meet the editorial aims of the business across a wide range of content verticals.
- Excellent creative skills and integrity.
- Ability to verify and surface key content programming strands ensuring that the ser *** channels maintain the desired accompanying narrative.
- A proven track record of digital video content storytelling.
- Strong experience managing staff and resources with validated leadership.
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of fast developing trends in broadcasting, online video and the OTT space in general.
- Solid experience of video editing software and processes.
