Internship Overview:

As a News Department Intern, you will have the chance to contribute to the creation of compelling news stories, assist in research, conduct interviews, and witness the behind-the-scenes workings of a newsroom.

Responsibilities:

No day is the same. If you excel in an active, fast-moving environment and have the drive to learn the many different areas of News production, this position is perfect for you
You will work with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers, in-house and out in the field
You will receive training on various topics including how to produce a news segment from the control room, how to research and pitch a great story, how to operate camera equipment, what shots matter, and more

Qualifications:

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or be considered a recent graduate
Must be at least in your sophomore year of an accredited college/university
Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
Willing to work approximately 15 hours a week for 10 weeks, beginning in late May/early June of 2024 **There may be a variety in hours due to our news programming schedules**
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have reliable transportation and be able to work from our El Paso, TX location

Internship Covers

Newsroom

Interns will work alongside reporters, producers, and news managers to learn skills in nearly all aspects of television news production. Examples include on-scene reporting, producing, video editing, research, and working at the assignment desk.

Production/Studio Operations

Interns will learn the technical aspects of live news broadcasts. Behind-the-scenes training will include learning robotic cameras, floor directing, lighting and show set-ups. Interns are required to be comfortable with height, able to lift light equipment, and work non-traditional hours.

Digital

Interns will learn how newsrooms publish content to digital platforms, analyze real-time online metrics and more. Interns will get the opportunity to research, write, and publish stories for ****.com.

Weather

Interns must have a working knowledge of a meteorology curriculum or closely related program of study. You will work with our team of meteorologists to learn the skills necessary to create and deliver forecast information for a television and online audience.

Marketing/Promotions

Interns with an interest in marketing, advertising, promotion, or production will be given hands-on experience in these areas.

Engineering

Interns will learn all aspects of maintaining a TV station. Training will include equipment repair, tripod setup, microphone cables, signal flow from the camera to the home viewer, computer networking, and routing.

Orientation

Once you are accepted as an intern at ****-TV, you will receive an instruction packet. Your first day at the station is set aside for orientation and you Must attend this. You will work three days a week, eight hours each shift with varying schedules. During the internship, you should always check in with your assigned adviser upon entering the building.

Securing housing and transportation during the internship is the responsibility of the student. ****-TV cannot offer support in this area.

Marketing Intern - SPRI China

Internship Period and Attendance Requirement: will be available and committed to at least a 6-month internship, with 3-4 working days per week physically on-site.

Background:

Based in SPE Beijing office, the Marketing Intern will report to the Managing Director, SPRI China and support the marketing team on various marketing activities for the promotion of market upcoming theatrical *** films in China market.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in marketing research and market data compilation.
Support marketing team with collecting digital promotion/marketing materials/ assets and facilitate ongoing management of marketing materials for efficient use.
Manage the preparation of various materials for meetings with marketing agencies for execution and follow-up.
Participate in the internal marketing strategies brainstorm for upcoming titles and provide thoughtful insights from a millennium standpoint.
Assist the team members with Ad hoc marketing tasks whenever needed.

Qualifications/Education:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including ****, PPT and EXCEL, Keynote and relevant Software etc.
Excellent language proficiency and communication skills written and verbal, native in Chinese and fluent in English.
Strong writing skills would be highly preferred and a plus, as evidenced by published articles and work.
Students who study in majors of film and television, script writing, marketing and communication would be preferred.
