LA is seeking a full-time Assistant Editor to help our team create word-class trailers. This role will be required to be in the office in our brand new Los Angeles space. In this role, you will handle all aspects of media management and have the opportunity to help create compelling and engaging stories. The ideal candidate will have experience as an Assistant Editor in the entertainment space and will have an innate eye for high-quality work. You are highly organized and most importantly, have a passion for compelling story-telling!
What You’ll Do:
Ingest, sync, group, review, and export media for Editors
Media management and daily maintenance of Avid/Premiere projects
Finish prep, including EDLs, AAFs, bins, plus any additional client delivery requirements.
Group clips, sync dailies, overcut sequences, and manage AMA workflows
Work with advanced camera files, such as Red, Alexa, Sony, Canon, etc.
Administer shared area network storage (Nexis/ISIS/SAN)
Asset management for editorial, motion graphics, and finishing
Transcode media to and from multiple codecs
Complete shot lists and music cue sheets
Properly QC deliverables to ensure all versions are final, error-free, and of the highest quality
Our business is driven by our clients’ needs and as such, paid overtime will be required on a regular basis

What You’ll Bring:
1+ year(s) of experience editing videos. (Motion picture advertising experience preferred)
Expertise in Avid Media Composer, Premiere Pro, and Media Encoder
Experience in all aspects of Assistant Editorial: footage download, pulling graphics, color correction, etc.
Technical knowledge in multiple video codecs, file formats, and conversions
Ability to troubleshoot common issues on editorial platforms
Familiar with media management, server storage, and removable external storage
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Ability to effectively manage tight deadlines
A portfolio or demo reel of your work
A passion for story-telling!
