Program Description:

MediaMKRS is a Reel Works program, which brings together educators,
employers, foundations, unions and The Mayor’s Office of Media and
Entertainment to train, credential and prepare talented New Yorkers for
careers in media while addressing systemic barriers to inclusion and equity
in the industry.


As a result of WarnerMedia’s commitment to building a more inclusive
workforce, WarnerMedia Access to Action has partnered with MediaMKRS to
create a free training program to develop post-production supervisors that
will prepare them to work in high-end scripted programming. Trainees will
connect with industry professionals who will provide them with real-world
knowledge, collaborate with peers to apply their learning in scenario-based
practicals and gain tools to enhance their communication, critical thinking
and collaboration skills.


Overview:

We are seeking to hire a part-time instructor to aid in the facilitation of
an intensive training program geared to prepare rising industry
professionals from underrepresented populations to have careers as
post-supervisor. This Instructor must be adept at cultivating and
maintaining relationships with people, institutions, and groups of diverse
backgrounds, missions, and perspectives. Candidates for this position must
have professional experience working in media and a knowledge of post
production workflows, ideally within high-end scripted programming. The
candidate in this position will be supported by HBO and MediaMKRS staff.


We acknowledge that the media and entertainment industry can do better when
it comes to access for media professionals from marginalized communities,
including people of color women and LGBTQIA+ people. Therefore, these
communities must be centered in the work we do, we strongly encourage those
with the following identities to apply: BIPOC, people with intersecting
identities - LGBTQIA+, women and non-binary people, people living with
disabilities and others with lived experience being part of marginalized
communities.


Required Qualifications:

- BA/BFA or MA/MFA preferred; or significant teaching/training
experience/mentorship/facilitation experience
- Have experience and passion for teaching rising media professionals
- Able to teach and engage students effectively within an online
learning environment exhibit proficiency using online tools and
applications such as Zoom and Canvas
- Skilled in enhancing existing curricula, lesson plans and presentation
materials through research and collaboration with subject matter experts
- Able to learn and facilitate our curricula
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well and collaborate with team members
- Must be independent, creative, energetic and flexible
- Eligible to work in the U.S.


Preferred Qualifications:

- Have a mature practice (3+ years) as an post-production supervisor (or
relevant post production experience) ideally on high-end scripted
programming, a knowledge of post production workflow to share with
students, and the ability to cite examples that can enlighten and inspire
their own work.

Salary: $50- $55/hour
