We are seeking a highly organized, preferably New York City based, Production Coordinator on a series of cutting edge science communication programs aimed at using art, animations, and engaging storytelling to bring the content and culture of science to a broad public audience. We are looking for someone who can self report to our studio in the Upper West Side of Manhattan on shoot days. Most of the non filming work performed during the pandemic will be remote (work from home).
Duties include:
- Managing Schedules and Booking
- Collaborate across departments (marketing, animation, executive, etc)
- Communicating notes and directives across different teams
- Organizing files, paperwork, and media
- Ordering equipment and supplies
- Researching science topics and scientists
- Keeping our production management software updated as developments occur
- Assisting on set to make sure production elements (camera, audio, talent, etc) are in place and ready at the right time
- Watching programs in development for quality control purposes
We are looking for someone to work part time on a project-by-project basis.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Excel at time management
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Work well in a fast-paced workplace
- Multi-task effectively
- Communicate effectively on the phone, by email, and in person
- Safeguard confidential information and remain discreet
- Problem Solving under pressure
- A high school degree or equivalent is required
- An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred
- At least 2 years of production experience is required
Not required but highly prized qualifications and skills:
- Basic knowledge of camera operations (Sony)
- Basic knowledge of lights and grip equipment
- Basic knowledge of Premiere (Adobe editing software)
- Working knowledge of production management software (Monday dot com)
