Job Description
The on-air Technical Operations team in Centennial, Colorado manages playout, linear distribution of content, and monitoring for *** and *** 's Network Operation and Owned Television Stations, including distribution of live programing (such as Today Show, SNL, America's Got Talent, The Voice, *** , Olympics, Election Coverage, FIFA World Cup, and Breaking News). The team also plays an integral role in origination and monitoring of Disaster Recovery streams for a diverse portfolio of cable properties.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining 99.999% availability and reliability within the Dry Creek *** and *** on-air operation. The Operations Manager will drive daily operations, manage live events, own client and customer communication, and manage projects within the operation amongst other responsibilities. This role will focus on, but will not be limited to, one of the three main content verticals across both *** and *** : News, Entertainment, and Sports. Additionally, the Operations Manager will work closely with On-Air Engineering to maintain systems health and oversee critical maintenances as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure 99.999% on-air reliability for all channel streams.
- Aggregate weekly programming requirements, allocate resources for channel playout and operator pod staffing, and distribute notes and operating conditions for live events.
- Provide clear direction to the on-air operations team for the execution of daily operational duties and for complex programming and high-profile events.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for all on-air technologies, systems and operational workflows.
- Manage change control procedures and maintenance priorities within the on-air operations while maintaining on-air reliability and availability at all times.
- Be available to respond to on-air distribution needs in a 24/7/365 environment.
- Be available for on call escalation rotations with the rest of the Network management team.
- Be available to attend, conduct, and present at required meetings.
- Coordinate with broadcast partners and other operations teams to ensure proper on-air execution for all programming including live events
- Lead projects and initiatives within the on-air operation managing scope, schedule, and resources
- Own customer/brand communication and requirements for different *** and *** verticals as assigned
Qualifications
- BA/BS, AA, and/or relevant certification in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a master control environment
- 3+ years of experience leading the execution of live television events
- 1+ year of experience in a leadership role in a fast-paced environment requiring troubleshooting and processing skills and exhibiting an ability to effectively lead, prioritize and adapt to changing scenarios

- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an *** Universal-designated worksite.
- Must be willing to work in Centennial, CO.This position is required to be onsite with limited ability to work from home.
- Must have unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be willing and available to work any shift including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of a 24x7/365 operation, with possibility of schedule changes based on business needs and priorities.
- Thorough understanding of television/ *** production, broadcast operations, and news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements.
- Must be willing and able to view all content including that considered to be mature in nature, repetitive, and potentially controversial
