What You Will DoAs part of *** Entertainment's Research, Insights, & Analytics (RIA) team and based in New York, this position leads a strong, tenured team and is responsible for leading Viewer insights and Performance analytics across the *** portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and creative problem solver who has the ability to identify and develop actionable insights through audience and consumer research, multi-platform performance analytics, and strong understanding of competitive landscape. The ideal candidate must possess the business and analytical acumen necessary to interpret and anticipate needs, understand business implications, and position insights effectively. This individual should have outstanding communication and presentation skills to report findings, proactively identify trends, and provide strategic insights for the News business. They will be a strong collaborator partnering with stakeholders across RIA, *** team, senior management, finance, marketing, production and press teams. Most importantly, they must live the values of collaboration, teamwork, and operating as one team across RIA and *** .
- Identify and develop key areas of research that allows *** to strategically elevate our position in the marketplace, and proactively provide insights around consumer trends, talent tracking and competitive landscape.
- Design and create bespoke analyses and insights to provide the organization with a deep and ongoing understanding of content performance across linear and streaming, the competitive landscape, as well as consumer attitudes, behaviors, and trends.
- Champion and continually improve data collection and efficiency by automating where possible, and building new reports and enhanced visualizations to communicate insights with expediency and elegance.
- Strive to understand stakeholders' business objectives and craft the best research design to help achieve them.
- Work closely across the RIA team to ensure consistent application of research standards and techniques.
- Partner with research vendors to ensure adherence to industry best practices, stated timelines, contracted deliverables and high data quality.
- Be an effective presenter and clear communicator / storyteller.
Required Qualifications & Skills The ideal candidate will demonstrate interest/experience in the News & Information genre, ideally in broadcast journalism.
- Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in linear TV and multiplatform content analytics (linear and streaming).
- Deep understanding of legacy and evolving content measurement solutions, and ability to identify gaps and i *** uence change that drives measurement accuracy
- Deep understanding of primary research in news, which includes pilot testing, program title testing, brand studies, and talent tracking.
- Demonstrated, active experience developing and building analyses and deliverables - utilizing both Nielsen and internal streaming data.
- Be a hands-on expert in Nielsen methodology and software (e.g., NPower, NNTV, and Star Multi-trak).
- Visual storyteller who can not only identify and evangelize best practices, but push boundaries and explore new territory.
- Ability to design qualitative and quantitative research initiatives that support internal objectives, including writing surveys, managing survey fielding, analyzing banners & crosstabs, writing moderator guides, etc.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluency with internal data intelligence/analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
- Demonstrate aptitude and diligence in learning technical applications quickly to visualize and interpret quantitative data.
- Outstanding communication skills - i.e., storytelling with data.
- Ability to build trust and partnerships across various teams and functions.
- Be flexible in adapting to changing priorities and able to juggle multiple projects concurrently.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with statistical analysis tools like R, SPSS and/or SAS preferred
- Experience managing the design and completion of complex projects
- Supplier-side experience required; *** , publisher, research company or agency experience also preferred
- Statistics knowledge and experience; ability to conduct advanced statistical analysis like factor and conjoint analysis

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $167,100 to $229,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
